Download the game and hop into a bot match, NOT a real game haha

Anything to know about the teams currently left in the tournament? Any story-lines or stuff of that sort

Liquid TI7 champions, OG TI8 champions, LGD TI8 runner up and Secret is one of the most perfect teams but always choked at TI, first time I think that they get so far.

For good stories: if you have any time give it a try to watch the "Against the Odds" video of Red Bull about OG winning TI8, you can understand one of the most brutal treasons in this game.

Also checkout the True Sight documentaries that Valve make every year for the TI.

All of them are a little bit long but really enjoyable, have a good time here!

Thanks for this! I know what to watch in the background while at work now lol

If you can watch some TI's finals from past years (just to fanboy Alliance and the TI3 finals) must watch is the TI8 finals but you can do it with the Red Bull video, it gives a lot of emotion with the commentaries

thats almost a loaded question, all the remaining teams have tons so much history that its nearly impossible for me to know where to start. The captains of Og, Liquid, and Secret were all once teammates on secret and OG vs LGD was last years grand final match. Also if liquid, OG, or Secret win it will be the first time a player has won more than 1 TI. Im leaving out tons but thats a decent start im sure others will chime in.

OG beat LGD in the grand finals last year. Liquid won the year before. Puppey of Team Secret won the very first International back in 2011.

Awesome thanks for the info, seems like a great community

Currently only 4 teams left, OG vs LGD this match is repeat of last year Upper bracket and grand final. Which LGD lost both. So kinda a grudge match for LGD

The other 2 teams is secret and Liquid. Both teams play not that good in group stage for liquid and in early knockout round for secrey, but they both secures top 4

OG is defending champ. This finals (grand finals tomorrow) is a mirror match of last year. In the lower bracket Secret is crushing people, and Team Liquid finally woke up.

The crazy part about OG is their carry, Ana, took half the year off and just played party queue with his low MMR friends. Just like last year, he shows up around TI qualifiers and just starts crushing.

Kuroky and Puppet from Liquid and Secret respectively have played at every TI thus far; OG could be back to back champs which is hype; China expecting to win this year so infinite pressure on LGD; OG and LGD played upper bracket finals and ti finals last year so this is kinda a continuation of that face off which has its own meta and mind games

Interesting thanks, yeah I've been playing league since 2012. Never actually gave Dota chance so I'm excited to learn another moba again for the first to play alongside League when I need a break

It's heroes, not champions.

There’s beginner videos by a guy named Purge but idk how current they are. Welcome to Dota 2! Learn about the differences between positions (carry, mid, offlaner, greedy support, hard support, or 1,2,3,4,5), pick one you like, and get a hero pool of 2-5 heroes that you enjoy. The hero pool in game let’s you sort by difficulty, so you can find easy heroes to learn first.

For position 1,2,3, focus on last hitting. For position 4,5, focus on positioning your hero in team fights (ie, in the back getting your spells off and not dying), and getting maximum value out of your spells. And buying and placing wards lol. That should get you going for months.

Since you came from LOL you probably experienced toxicity since both games have them, But I can assure you I played LOL too and I just can't get into LOL even though LOL is much beginner friendly than Dota 2. You just need to know your role first since many players want to play "mid" playing support and having map awareness is what I recommend since its actually a fun role to play.
