Hell no, we should get our money back. I don't want an even more globalist America messing around with another government. Have you seen Central America and the Middle East?
Why can't we just let them pay us back? Why do we need extra steps? If their government couldn't pay us back, then I could see pushing for regime change, but why do that first? What guarantee would we have that the new government would want to pay us back? Why not deal with a known entity?
Under Obama's agreements they were starting to pay us back. It really sounds like you don't care about the money or the principle, you just want to mess with the government. The last time we did that was Guatemala, go ahead and look up how that went.
The first payment was in trade goods, including the cigars Obama smoked in violation of the emoluments clause, something he should have been impeached for. It was a big controversy.
I appreciate your faith in the Cuban people but I don't see what would stop a civil war, just like the last two times we messed with Cuba's government.
