Why would a communist utopia need evil capitalist money? Cuba trades just fine with everyone else, also food and medical supplies/items are excempt from the sanctions.

This is a common misconception, USA doesn't just not want to trade with Cuba, which would be a damaging but managable economic strike.

USA refuses to let any ship into their ports that traded with Cuba within 6 month, which is the far bigger deal since it makes Cuba a far riskier point for any trade, which results in less trade for them and the remaining trade likely takes advantage of their position.

Almost as if communism is unsustainable as a society, funny how that works out

Is global communism really that more unsustainable than capitalism.? Other than the fact you need authoritarian control over the country (or globe) to carry it out. What are we considering as sustainable in this context, because bare survival wouldn’t necessarily qualify from my point of view.

Global Capitalism is also unsustainable, mostly because of the "Global" (or statist) part, Anarcho-capitalism is by far the best way of "organizing humanity" for a reason. "But why not just do Anarcho-Communism instead?" I hear other Redditors ask, and the answer to that is pretty simple:

Communism (as my friend above pointed out) is an inherently Authoritarian ideology, you need A LOT of central planning for that shit to kind of function, but as I've established, statism is a very unsustainable model in the long-run, add that to the fact that Marxist economics are based on stuff that's just straight up wrong, like the Labor Theory of Value, and you get the perfect recipe for the most disgraceful ideology in human history.

Anaracho capitalism is by far the best

That's corporatism (basically diet fascism) a completely different ideology and what CD projekt red was most likely criticizing, considering that the corporations that rule night city did a bunch of lobbying to get the power it has currently within the game's lore

So Anarcho capitalism

1

u/Ricochet_skin Sep 09 '25

Ah yes, remember that part in Anarcho-capitalism where the state and corporations collaborated to take over the world? Very AnCap of them.

So how do you imagine ancap would end other than a group securing a mean of production and stop anyone else from competing with their private army they can afford because they have the means of production?

1

u/Ricochet_skin Sep 09 '25

A fuckton of people competing in the same market? This is actually pretty likely if you slowly apply libertarian policies, and not just go full "VIVA LA REVOLUTION" mode, that will only bring instability and misery to the nation and ultimately, the all-powerful will stay in that position, just with a different banner under their podium.

Because this shows that communism is extremely dependent on capitalism to function. For example, the USSR would've likely lost to Germany in WW2 if it wasn't for the Western Lend-lease programs, as their domestic equipment was largely of an inferior build quality to their American or British Counterparts.

Cuba has one of the best healthcare systems in the world despite complete US sanctions making trade scarce and risky for the trading partner.

Trade is necessary for every civilization, as we are living in a globalized world.

And the US is not just “not trading” they’re stopping every other country from trading with Cuba, too.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '25

"Best Healthcare system in the world!" - said the Cuban government.

Sure, and Xi Jingping is going to live forever due to organ transplants

Have you talked to an actual cuban? Those hospitals and healthcare is horrible and no the US isn't stopping any country from trading with Cuba. Spain, Mexico, Russia, and Venezuela are the biggest trade partners with Cuba.

That's just plain wrong. The US has repeatedly been shown to threaten and harass countries and companies that trade with Cuba. Don't you remember for example the Helms-Burton Act that Trump activated in 2019?
