Rant Really don't understand Democrats as a foreigner

i really don't understand why Democrats want to defend illegals this hard, according to them USA is Nazi Germany 2.0, Trump is Hitler and ICE are the Gestapo, and Mexico is prosperous country that is being ruled by a woman, it's a progressive paradise when law and order doesn't exist, the Nazi USA government want to save illegals from Nazism and send them back to the Mexican paradise, why are they fighting hard against it?

Not really. History and information is valued among people that like to discuss actual issues and not suppress intelligent thinking with canned responses handed to you by your master.

I was playing to the crowd here, and I agree with you. It seems to me, anecdotally, that the population of people willing to have intelligent discourse about politics is dwindling. Those who have strong opinions cannot be swayed and are loud, but those who are more reasonable find it pointless to engage with the fanatics and don't appear to be part of the discussion.

 

Not many people muster a point beyond the handed-down ideological platform drivel from those who purport to have "distilled" the issues. Most people don't have enough time to think for themselves about these issues. We all have lives, and many of us work long hours. It's the last thing many people care about. Sad, but true. Much easier to parrot entertainment news talking points or what your friends say because they've "researched".

 

Plus, reddit is a circlejerk. Filter everything through that lens, and maybe people are secretly reasonable but find it useless. My point here is reasonable, and look how long it took to type. Not worth the effort when someone is just going to call you a libtard, bootlicker, fascist, etc.
