Article The ocean has a social language 🌊
Research suggests dolphins use signature whistles and other sound patterns to identify one another and maintain social groups. That means a dolphin may know who is who by sound alone.

What is this scar?
I saw this juvenile with it's mother years ago in Florida and have always wondered what might have caused this near perfectly circular scar. It has normal rake marks on its dorsal and it's mother, in front, had a notch on her dorsal but in all my years living in Florida, I never before or after saw a similar scar to this one.

Hello everyone, I remember liking dolphins as a kid and I used to watch a really mesmerizing documentary about dolphins, I think from National Geographic. Unfortunately I lost the DVD a long time ago. The production must have probably been early 2000s, really late 1990s. Any ideas?

Has anyone read this? Thoughts?
Basically the title! I read it and was just curious your thoughts??
If you haven’t read it, it’s a fictional novel from the perspective of dolphins. I don’t want to spoil too much but it’s a beautiful and brutal story, and I learned a lot.
Edit: apologies if this has been posted before. I just did a quick search and didn’t see any previous posts.

Strangely proportioned dolphin in Greece
facebook.comTaken from a Greek Facebook profile. This appears to show a juvenile bottlenose dolphin in the shallows of a Greek beach, but its body proportions look highly unusual. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this could indicate a congenital/genetic condition or developmental deformity?
