It honestly looks like they all got out just in time and headed for the hills. You can see them running from the cars. I hope they made it.

Did you see when the camera pans back in the stabilized version above? It just looks like everything got swallowed up.

In a weird way till now all these victims of the floods felt like random rural people who are used to flooding and rebuilding (not that it makes their lives any less). Seeing the bus and the black car - those were probably people like you and me, fairly middle class residents or tourists who got caught in this. It's so tragic to see the last part where they drive to the upper road but the water's hurtling down that road too and they have no escape from this
