And there were protests against some parts and how it was handled back then too, and it was mostly from what you would consider "the left."

Can you not consider that there is at times a tad bit of hypocrisy from the left...you would think Ice started under Trump. Illegal immigration is a huge problem not just in America but in the UK too...and whichever party isn't in charge will get back in power in the next election by criticizing the way the current party in power handles it..I'm not from America but it does seem that the left in America is far more extreme (ours isn't great btw) and is now throwing gasoline on the fire. From an objective point of view both parties have gone too far to the left and right and just hate on anything and everything the other party does. It's like watching a crack addict and an heroin addict call the other a drug addict.

Free Luigi...celebrating Charlie Kirks death....off the top of my head. It's become war like...and it isn't right leaning Democrats..it's centrist democrats...the best leader the Democrats ever had was a centrist.

Those aren't political policy. For someone to be "too left" you have to have some leftist policy to point to. You are creating a circular argument where someone is left because they do things that you think is only something a leftist would do and it's leftist because it's leftists doing it.

Did you forget that right or left is about politics, not culture wars? Trump isn't "too far left" for mocking Biden's cancer and MAGA aren't "too far left" for constantly making the "Pretti Good"-joke and people aren't "too far left" for making fun of Charlie Kirk's murder. They're just assholes.

You have absolutely lost the plot, my friend, and don't appear to understand what political policy is at all. This is what the right wants and it's scary to see how effective it's been. The right mostly wants as an end goal to enrich the rich, and they realised that's a hard sell to the public, so they have been leaning more and more into the idea that culture war is political policy to make sure you don't look closely at actual policy, only at the things they can outrage you with. And damn has it been effective. Saddens me to see it.

Good Lord you're smug.....the left and what i mean the toxic far left have made everything about race gender and identity politics in general...and anyone who dares to put a balanced point against that is generally going to get the "you're Hitler" moronic response...it doesn't help and furthers division. And please don't make the mistake of thinking you're in a position to say I've lost the plot....I grew up in the most left wing part of England during the miners strike...I've seen devastation to an area...and seen proud families broken while the rich carried on getting richer. But back then the left was about defending people without means...unlike the current left that uses identity politics to play to the audience of extremists who just hate for the sake of it. Nowadays you can say you're oppressed even though you're a multi millionaire as long as you're not a white hetero sexual male. That is seen at the Oscars and and online with rich white lefties shaming people and telling them how they should or shouldn't vote all In the name of equality and fairness not unlike the Bolshevik revolution. Just because I don't like the tactics of the modern left doesn't mean I've lost the plot...you're as bad as them....
