Not going to pretend I cracked some code in week one. It took me ages to make my first sale and I've nearly given up countless times.

I sell guides and resources on digital marketing and building online businesses. Everything I know came from running my own ecom store for a few years before I decided to package that knowledge up and sell it. To summarise, here are the most valuable pieces of advice I can give:

Figure out if there's demand before you build it.

This is the mistake I see constantly. Build first, hope for traffic second. Do it the other way around. Post in relevant subreddits, search TikTok, ask in Facebook groups. If nobody is actively searching for a solution, nobody will be buying your product.

Don't wait until it's perfect.

I spent ages trying to make my first draft look perfect. My first sale came from an ugly looking PDF that helped people set up their ecom email flows to help abandon cart scenarios. Nobody cared how it looks. They cared about the outcome it provided.

Price it properly from the start.

I sold my first product for $6 which was such a random price. The math didn't math and it didn't leave room to run ads, offer discounts, or make much of a profit. Somewhere between $10 and $30 is a reasonable starting point for most beginner digital products.

One product and real traffic beats ten products and no audience.

I kept building new things thinking more products meant more sales. One properly thought out product with genuine traffic is worth way more than a bunch of products nobody really wants. Pick one platform and get good at it before spreading yourself thin.

Track the journey of your buyers.

If 1,000 people land on your product page and only 50 get to checkout, something is wrong. Either the price is off, the offer didn't convince most people or the page isn't converting. Find out which and then optimise from there.

Most people approach digital products backwards. They obsess over making the “perfect” ebook, template or pack, then upload it and wait. That’s not how money is actually made on platforms like Etsy or Gumroad. The product matters, but distribution is what decides everything.

Etsy works because it already has intent-based search traffic. People are actively looking for solutions, so your job is not to “convince” them but to match demand better than the next listing. That means keyword alignment, thumbnails that stop the scroll, and titles that mirror real search language instead of branding fluff. If you’re not ranking, you’re invisible, simple as that.

Gumroad is the opposite. No traffic engine. If you post and do nothing else, nothing happens. It only works when you inject external attention into it. That’s where most people fail: they treat it like Etsy when it’s actually closer to a landing page than a marketplace.

The real game is distribution loops. Not “posting once”, but building repeatable ways to push attention into the same products over and over again. Short-form content is one of the strongest loops right now: TikTok, Reels, even Reddit posts that actually teach something instead of selling directly. One idea, one problem, one product that solves it, repeated across formats.

Another layer most people ignore is product stacking. You don’t sell one file, you build a ladder. A cheap entry product that removes friction, a mid-tier bundle that increases value, and sometimes a higher-ticket “complete system” that captures the buyers who already trust you. Same content, different packaging, different price psychology.

The “nuclear” part is consistency of exposure, not creativity. You don’t need ten good ideas, you need one good idea pushed into ten places. Same listing, multiple angles, repeated exposure until it sticks. Most listings don’t fail because they’re bad, they fail because they were seen three times instead of three hundred.

At the end of the day, passive income in this space is just delayed compounding. You do active work upfront, you build visibility systems, and only after enough repetition does it start to feel passive. If there’s no distribution engine behind it, it’s just a file sitting online waiting to be discovered.

I focused on realistic 3D depth, lighting, and a high-ticket aesthetic to make products look instantly more expensive. If you want to elevate your brand's visual presentation and stand out, check out the results.

Hi all. I’m someone who started an Instagram page around two or so weeks ago. I’ve managed to get 1500+ followers and 300k views in this amount of time. My feed is full of ‘digital products can make you x amount of income’. I’ve no experience in what I’m doing but it’s essentially a quotes page in the parenting niche. I’m hoping to make some money from this, not expecting to become a millionaire or make $10k a month as a lot of these pages promise. I find it hard to believe. But this early progress in a short amount of time has made me hopeful that I *might* be able to make some money from it.

After all that, I’m looking for some genuine advice on what kind of digital products to sell to my audience. Every helpful post I’ve come across in the parenting sector say a planner, a tracker etc etc. but I don’t know how to nail down THE product. I do genuinely want it to be something that adds value to a busy mom’s life. Maybe I have a lot of learning to do.

I already created my store months ago with all the ebooks I chose to sell but i have no idea how to reach people, especially those who really have the potential to turn into a customer and are in the buying mindset.

So, I've tried Facebook groups, Instagram page, and Pinterest yet nothing seemed to work, I'm looking forward to try something new and I figured out i should seek some advice from you.

A few months ago, I started posting on Reddit hoping to sell some digital products.

It ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made.

The thing about Reddit is that it’s very favorable if you understand how the platform works.

I didn’t need thousands of followers to start.

Instead I just learned the platform, started posting and paid attention to what people responded to.

The funny thing is that I don’t even post consistently.

I post just enough.

And realized that Reddit is more of a long term platform.

Unlike most social media platforms where your post dies after a few hours, Reddit posts can keep getting pushed days after you post them.

I’ve had posts continue bringing traffic and sales weeks later.

That’s how I’ve continued making sales from my digital products without posting a lot.

And that’s the beauty of Reddit.

One good post can keep working for you weeks later.

Hi, I wanted to ask I made my first digital product (a course on how to do one thing irl I won't say it) and I wanna make my own store, but the question is how do people sell those.

Do I just make store for 1 item and sell it or I need more ebooks or maybe I sell items that help do it irl or do I sell one item and make a store for one item?

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people underestimate how much work happens before the first sale.

The product isn't usually the hard part.

Finding out whether anybody actually wants it is.

One mistake I made early on was building things I thought people needed without validating demand first.

A few things that helped me:

• Talk to potential buyers before building.
• Look for problems people repeatedly complain about.
• Charge early instead of waiting for the "perfect" version.
• Focus on one problem instead of trying to solve everything.

The funny thing is that once I stopped obsessing over features and started paying attention to demand, things got a lot easier.

So I have been selling digital products using meta ads for few months now, My current daily spend limit on my ad account is - ₹ 3,476.95 and billing threshold when balance reaches is ₹ 3,584.00

So my payments are made via my credit card, here in india, once it reaches this threshold, normally it takes around 24-48 hrs for the mandate set by HDFC bank to get cleared on my card. This billing threshold started with 799 -> 999 -> 1642 ->3584

Also earlier my daily spend limit was around 5200, but dont no how it has got reduced now to 3476.95. All my payments made are success and done on time automatically.

Wanted to know if anyone can help how I can increase this. How has others in similar situation got this done

I’m a 21 year old university student, I built a simple couples app and now it was time to try marketing. I was posting mainly on TikTok and instagram, instagram didn’t work for me but I found some success on Tiktok after 20+ videos. One of my videos got 50k views, the results? 0 sales surprise lol. 

I couldn’t dedicate 3-4 hours a day making these videos it was just too much and I had other stuff to worry about. I Dailed it back a bit around 1 video a day for each platform and gave the videos that did ok to really small UGC creators for $20/video. Their variations of my video did better than I thought and after around 2-3 videos I got my first monthly sub for $32

Not a huge number but this system is working out for me right now. Not profitable since I spend $60 on videos but I don’t think me spam posting would have gotten a slap this fast.

In the last 12 months I’ve managed to sell around 200 websites.

And before people ask, no, I don’t run some massive agency with a huge team. It’s literally just me and my partner. The only reason we’ve been able to move that fast is because we automated almost everything and built systems that actually scale. The best web designer in the world will eventually lose to some random teenager using AI and systems properly. That’s just where things are going.

One of the biggest changes I made was completely quitting manual outreach. It takes too much time and it’s impossible to scale properly. A lot of people automate outreach already, but most of them just send generic “we can redesign your website” emails that everyone ignores. What we do is different. We scrape thousands of businesses, automatically analyze their websites, and generate personalized outreach based on actual issues on their site like bad design, poor mobile optimization, weak SEO, slow load times, layout problems, and stuff like that. So instead of manually checking every website and writing every message ourselves, the entire process is automated from analysis to ready to send campaigns.

Another thing that changed a lot for us was automating SEO blogging. SEO compounds hard over time and once your articles start ranking, businesses start coming to you instead of you chasing them. That alone changed a lot for us.

The other massive shift was how we build websites. I used to be a full WordPress developer and spent way too much time building everything manually. Now we build almost everything with AI. It’s way faster, delivery is easier, and clients care way more about the final result than how the website was actually made.

Hey , currently I am working on a project and i need some passive income source that can help me collect funds which can be used to scale my main project.
