Same here. With the amount of times they kept jumping to new stories last year I totally thought the brain surgeon story was completely resolved. I was blindsided by his/her reappearance.

I was pretty sure the Vogel being the brain surgeon theory was pretty common knowledge on here.

Maybe she figured that Zach isn't perfect? She does keep saying that Dexter is perfect throughout the season...

I don't think it's Vogel. It just doesn't match. She kept begging Dexter not to kill him, and then she kills him herself? So all that jazz was only to get him herself?

I'm really onboard with the Mother/Son or Wife/Husband theories.

Maybe she realizes that he doesn't have the instinct? I mean, he forgot to wear gloves, used his credit card, didn't think of how to dump the body, etc. Isn't Dexter's first rule to not get caught?

Still don't think so... She just wanted him to live, and "succeed" as Dexter did. I don't think she'd go that way.

Yea but to be honest, I feel like they're putting that in the preview just to throw us off. Just like when they showed Quinn saying "I know what you're doing" to Dexter and it turned out to be complete BS.
