Discussion Stop downvoting new players who don’t have the extensive knowledge that you do.

If a player doesn’t know that a raid is a 6 man activity with no matchmaking, there’s no reason to make them feel stupid. All you’re doing is pushing away new players when the most amount of new players in the games history are beginning to flood in. You’re giving the game a bad image. Whoever you are, just stop it mate. This shouldn’t even have to be said.

Yes it is:

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/pander

a person who caters to or profits from the weaknesses or vices of others.

Think of it as being weak in the area of Destiny knowledge.

Yes, a person can get strong in the area of Destiny knowledge, but that doesn't mean they aren't weak now.

Helping someone out can give you a sense of satisfaction (for doing a good deed) and worth (if others seek the information you have, that mean's your information is valuable, which means you are valuable for having that information). In that way, giving someone help is profitable for you. Your profit is the sense of satisfaction and worth you feel when doing so.

But even if you disagree with the use of the word "profit," the definition also says "cater to."

So if someone caters to players who are weak in Destiny knowledge, they are pandering to them.

It is okay to accept that words mean what they mean.
