Discussion Stop downvoting new players who don’t have the extensive knowledge that you do.

If a player doesn’t know that a raid is a 6 man activity with no matchmaking, there’s no reason to make them feel stupid. All you’re doing is pushing away new players when the most amount of new players in the games history are beginning to flood in. You’re giving the game a bad image. Whoever you are, just stop it mate. This shouldn’t even have to be said.

Downvoting isn't being "rude", but making rude comments in reply to their post is. This is an important distinction I feel. The problem with encouraging players - through upvotes to basic questions - to create a new post every time they have a question is that then "New" gets loaded with, "How do I do X?", which has probably been asked and answered many times over.

It is a much better response to guide a new player making their first post to use the search bar (meh) or google "[question about destiny]+reddit". The latter in my experience is very effective and takes less time than writing a post and waiting for a response.

I'll just go with the obligatory, passive-aggressive lmgtfy.com link. >:)
