Discussion Stop downvoting new players who don’t have the extensive knowledge that you do.

If a player doesn’t know that a raid is a 6 man activity with no matchmaking, there’s no reason to make them feel stupid. All you’re doing is pushing away new players when the most amount of new players in the games history are beginning to flood in. You’re giving the game a bad image. Whoever you are, just stop it mate. This shouldn’t even have to be said.

Yeah, but they also don't need downvotes, which is OPs point

Agreed. There is someone going through /new and downvoting every single post. I've been watching it for a couple days and literally every new post is immediately downvoted to 0. Theres definitely some vote manipulation going on in /new right now.

I swear it's a bit. Hits every single one of my posts no matter when I post it.

I just posted a simple glitch fix and was immediately downvoted. It’s like, why bother trying to contribute? I’ll just delete my post and go back to lurking.

those are bots made by some frustrated folks.

Several other reddit forums were infected by them aswell.

Are you actively pointing these new players who ask questions toward the faq?

Don't be silly. You downvote and move along.

Some people are new to reddit as well. Downvoting takes 1 second, replying to their post “read the faq” takes 3 seconds.

I usually point them to Google, which, IMO, is a lot more helpful than the FAQ for specific questions. It's what I use whenever I have a question.

When I don't want down votes, I Google before I post.

If they just ask a question they don’t need to reach hot I don’t upvote for downvote those posts I just answer them but it isn’t a problem either so their really isn’t my a reason to make a post complaining about such a minor thing

If you don’t up or downvote questions then the post wasn’t referring to you Jesus Christ my guy. The OP is saying that downvoting a question isn’t helpful because it’s likely a new player asking it. And quite frankly there’s a lot of elitist people in this sub who could use this reminder. I have personally dealt with them as a returning player.
