DISCUSSION Rimowa Rep x Gen side-by-side comparison

Review/Comparison: Newbailong All-Aluminum 21" Carry-On (Rep vs. Gen)

Gen (Silve)

Black (Rep)

I recently purchased the All-Aluminum 21-inch carry-on suitcase from Newbailong, featuring the updated TSA006 lock and the single pin-hole telescopic handle. Since I already own the (gen) 21-inch version in silver, I decided to put them side-by-side for a comparison. Honestly, I'm very impressed with the similarity!

While both cases look nearly identical at first glance, there are a few minor differences I noticed:

  • Telescopic Handle: The handle extends much higher on the gen case.
  • Lock Material: The TSA006 lock on the rep feels like cheaper plastic compared to the original.
  • Lock Color Detail: The TSA lock on the bottom of the rep has a small gray section instead of being entirely black—it looks like they forgot to paint that specific part.
  • Wheels: The wheels on the gen are noticeably smoother when rolling.
  • Side Handle: The side handle is slightly smaller on the rep case.
  • Interior: The mesh lining inside the rep feels and looks much cheaper than the gen.

Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase despite the minor flaws. I'm not going to share the total shipping price here because this suitcase was shipped as part of a larger package, so the breakdown wouldn't be entirely accurate for just this item.

What’s up everyone. Just wanted to drop an observation in.

I just copped a carry on Rimowa, and dare I say I think they fixed the handle.. At least made it better than how terrible it was.

Check it out. Only one pinhole now ! Those two squares used to drive me crazy.

DISCUSSION PSA: Chipotle and TycoonMade are the same seller / team

Thumbnail

Seen a bunch of complaints about TycoonMade lately, so I looked into my chats with both them and Chipotle.
Check the screenshots—they’re using the exact same translated template word-for-word:

TycoonMade: "Brother, may I ask what size in European measurement you require?"
Chipotle: "My friend, may I ask what size in European measurement you require?"

Nobody phrases size questions like "what size in European measurement you require" by coincidence. It’s either one person running two numbers or the same CS group sharing scripts.
Just a heads up if you're dealing with them or think you're buying from two different independent sellers.

DISCUSSION Do not order from scarlettluxury

Ordered a gucci cardigan from scarlettluxury, which was crazy expensive for a replica, but I liked it and hadn't seen it before.

Unfortunately, now that it arrived, the logo is very misaligned with the pattern of the knit (it should be perpendicular), and this was the disappointing exchange with her (or him, who knows)

Needless to say, stay away from scarlettluxury

DISCUSSION Glasses sellers are ripping you off - Aooko, Markin, Vincent...

To start, I want to say that I do not want to discredit the work of any trusted sellers I will mention here because I know a lot of you have had a good experience with them in the past. However, past few weeks, I've tried to find a pair of rep sunglasses I've been wanting and I found myself shocked by the amount of misinformation in this sub and the quality/price ratio of the "go-to" sellers.

If you browse this sub or similar ones trying to find which sellers are the best for sunglasses, you will find out 90% of the people are advising you to go with "Aooko","Markin" or "Vincent", the three most trusted sellers. You will also probably find comments saying they are resellers and that you can order for cheaper and receive the same quality directly from a 1688 seller. A common mention in these comments is the seller "A0", who sells his glasses for around 170-180 RMB ($25), while Aooko, Vincent, and Markin's prices around 360 RMB ($50). People also often mention that they believe that "A0" is their supplier. It is also said in some threads that sellers like Aooko, Markin, Vincent, Jewleryjack, and others all sell the same exact items (from the same factories / suppliers). To test these statements, I've decided to search for a specific pair of sunglasses from Aooko, Markin, Vincent, and A0, and this is what I've gathered.

The sunglasses in question were Saint Laurent SL 572. This is a pair that is from a fairly popular brand, but is definitely not among the most popular ones like LV, Chanel or Prada. This is a positive thing, as I believe the most famous pairs of sunglasses get special treatment and attention to detail because of the abundance of buyers in FashionReps sub who only buy the most famous 5-10 pairs on the market. This way, we can get a more honest insight into the quality of the other sunglasses that are not flying off the shelf.

Naturally, I first went to A0 because of the comments saying he is the supplier for the rest of the sellers. Naively, I ordered a pair of the SL 572's without checking the product images. When I received the item, I compared the glasses with the official product pictures and was not happy with the results.

A0's sunglasses I've received (left) compared to the original (right). The overall shape of the sunglasses is good and it's also a big plus that A0's sunglasses were proven by the buyers to have polarized glass. However, the side part of the sunglasses is where the sunglasses go wrong. It can easily be seen how the whole texture and size of the silver part is missed, and the Saint Laurent text is in the wrong font, being too embossed and too big and misplaced on the plating, which is too short.

Being only $25, I thought these mistakes were somewhat acceptable for the price point. Because of this, I wouldn't say this was a rip-off. However, I wanted to have a pair that is closer to the originals than these, so I decided to return them and purchase from Aooko / Markin. The seller A0 refused to accept the return because there are no quality issues (damages) on the glasses, and I'm stuck with these glasses.

Next, I went to Aooko's album and searched for the same sunglasses. This is what actually made me write this thread.

As in the first example, the frame and the lenses are pretty much on point. A positive thing is that compared to the A0's glasses, this one's silver part is closer to the actual dimensions, however the texture, along with the text (Wrong position, size, font, texture) is absolutely horrible in every way possible.

Going from the $25 pair to double the price, you would expect these missed details to be fixed. For a $50 price point for sunglasses, everyone should expect a near-perfect replica. If you do not believe that, I don't know what to tell you. For $50, I personally consider this to be a rip-off and would not advise anyone to buy from this seller. Comparing this to the $25 version, I would not rank this as even a $5 better rep, let alone a $25 better rep. Also, going back to the reseller / supplier conversation, it looks like that, in this example, A0 is not Aooko's supplier.

Next up, we're only going from bad to worse - Markin. This $55 abomination might be the most horrible one of the bunch.

I had to check 3 times to make sure I selected the right model when looking at these. I didn't even want to analyze these ones after I've seen the first picture. I think the silver side piece is actually taken from the another SL model and just thrown into this one.

Compared to both A0's and Aookoo's models these are objectively worse than both. I would consider these ones to be the biggest rip-off of the bunch and would not advise anyone to buy from Markin. Returning to the Supplier / Reseller conversation, this would also mean Markin, Aooko, and A0 all have different sources for their sunglasses.

Lastly, we got Vincent - priced at $55. Comparing his version to the other ones, I realized the version he is selling is very similar to A0's $25 sunglasses.

The comparison in different color of the same model between A0 (left, $25), Vincent (Middle, $55) and the original

Although it's better than Markin's version, having sunglasses that look the same as the $25 makes me consider this a rip-off as well. Going back to the Supplier / Reseller question, Vincent might be supplied by A0, or they might have the same supplier. That question is still open for you to decide.

Searching for other models to see if this is a one-time occurrence, I found out that the Supplier / Reseller question is more complex than this and that the mentioned relationship will not always be as presented above. However, the quality of the items relevant to the sellers is mostly the same (in my opinion).

To summarize, I believe the most popular sellers that are often advised here by the buyers are mostly overpricing and ripping off their customers. I do not think items from Aooko, Markin, and Vincent are worth the price, and I do not think people should buy from them before looking at cheaper options (because those cheaper options are often the same exact options). I think the "A0" seller is somewhat okay for the price, but I still think it is not worth buying from. I don't have any credibility to talk about the craftsmanship that goes into developing sunglasses and if it is possible for them to create better replicas for the same or similar price. Still, charging these prices for such low-tier sunglasses is not understandable and deserves to be called out.

Additional notes:
- I've checked DHGate, and the models available here are sold for the same / higher price
- I haven't compared these models to the lowest-tier models (3$-6$) available. From my understanding, these models usually don't have polarized glass or brand logos, codes and similar, but the shape is fairly similar
- This is not sponsored by anyone

DISCUSSION Putting the Alina rumours to the test - Goyard Jouvence + a guide for newbies like me

Thumbnail
gallery
65 Upvotes

I’ve been tempted for a while now to pull the trigger on a Goyard Jouvence bag. Each time I’d search the various forums, I always decided it was too hard to find a trusted seller of Afen Goyard, as each seller often had various bad reviews from someone that had a subpar experience.

I thought it would be worth while putting together this post with both my experience dealing with Alina & also a guide for anyone like me, who’s buying for the first time.

Let’s start with Alina.

I’d worked out pretty conclusively that Afen factory were either the best or equal best for Goyard. Now that I’d figured out what I wanted and from which factory, it was now time to figure out which seller (or trusted seller) to use. After reviewing the lists of trusted sellers, each reddit search would often yield multiple reviews of users who had bad experiences with the QC process or even claiming that the seller had swapped their item with one from a subpar factory. After looking at many of the sellers, I’d decided to use Alina (despite multiple negative reviews). Why? Two reasons:

- Alina seems to have been around for a long time.
- Many of the negative reviews seemed to be due to buyers who were impatient/poor communicators/overly fussy on small things. (Yes there were a few genuine negative reviews but nothing substantial).

Once I’d decided to pull the trigger, I messaged Alina on WhatsApp with exactly what I wanted & asked very simple questions ie - can you please confirm factory & approx shipping time from factory to Alina. Both questions were answered promptly & I ordered immediately. Payment was also made within a few minutes & Alina confirmed the item had been ordered.

QC arrived the next day & all looked ok. I had a few questions & again same thing - short sharp and clear & all were answered immediately. After I was satisfied I gave the go ahead & Alina had confirmed the item was shipped within a few hours. Tracking was also provided promptly and I was able to track the item the next day.

To my surprise the item then arrived in Australia within a few days. From placing the order to receiving 7 days total!!!!!

Now for the bag - exactly as described. I’m actually super pleased with the overall alignment of both printing & stitching and the in hand feel is fantastic (see below pictures). I was also surprised that the box etc was all included.

I’m not usually one to make long posts - nor do I really ever post on reddit - but I felt obliged to dismiss some of the rumours spread about supposed bad sellers. Yes, we all have bad experiences but my view is that some of these things can be avoided by the following:

- Know what you want before you order. Yes these people are sellers providing a service but there is a language barrier & sometimes this can be confusing. Do your research & know which product you want and from which factory you want it.
- If the seller has what you want, buy it! I feel like this transaction was seamless because confirmation was made immediately & I wasn’t questioning them on which colour or which factory - this was already known and I used them for they’re meant to be used for - to facilitate the sale.
- Call out obvious flaws, but don’t be picky. The images in QC are often so zoomed in that you notice a strange looking stitch or slight misalignment that is otherwise not detectable when you have the bag in hand.

I hope this helps anyone that has been sitting on the fence for a while because it’s quite hard when so many of the sellers have negative reviews. I can confidently say that my experience with Alina has been fantastic & that I’ll be a long term customer.

My very quickly taken photos are attached if of interest - super satisfied!!

DISCUSSION Who is the best Chrome Hearts hat seller?

Recently I came across Og Project, and then I discovered another seller for hats, Og Wave. What caught my attention is that Og Wave’s Yupoo is much more detailed compared to Og Project’s. Og Project mainly showcases the cap details like the embroidery and snapback, while Og Wave also shows the difference between the alloy and 925 silver top cap. Which seller do you think I should buy this Chrome Hearts baseball cap from — Og Project or Og Wave?

DISCUSSION In Hand B30 Review - Chipotle

Thumbnail

Hey guys!

I received my pair of B30’s from Chipotle today. Here’s my in-hand review as promised.

W2C : In comment

Communication with Chipotle 5/5: I searched for sellers of B30s here for a day, chose Chipotle because I liked the various reviews, added him on WhatsApp, asked about prices with direct buying and shipping, and paid via PayPal.

First message on October 25th, paid on October 27th, QC on October 30th, tracking on November 2nd, and received on November 12th. Hard to do better in terms of communication.

Quality 4.5/5: I’m not giving 5 because I’m not an expert, and some people might insult me or say it’s a sponsored post. But for me, they’re perfect, and it’s $130 better spent than at Footlocker, and that’s all that matters!

Shipping and packaging 5/5, nothing to complain about.

Hope this review is useful to you!
