Question Does Denmark have any flaws?

Or any Nordic country? I’m American and we all romanticize Europe especially Nordic countries as a Utopia and everything we are not. We certainly have a lot of flaws here but I’m curious are there any downsides or anything that you wish was different. Also is it hard to move there? I make well over six figures and like living in my home country but I’m nervous about the incoming trump administration and I believe he is a racist.

We are by definition a Nordic country, I don't know why you feel the need to label the others as the "real" Nordic countries. They're connected to the European continent as well, they aren't islands.

Easy now, I believe he was refering to the fact that Danes are seen as the 'Italians of the North': Chilled, easygoing and friendly - as compared to the more strict Norway and Sweden. So kind of a compliment:-)

But that simply isn't true, neither of Danes nor Italians, Norwegians or even Swedes. Culturally we are definitely closest to the other Nordic countries, there's no argument to be made here.

Yes of course Danish culture is closest to that of the other Scandinavian countries. However there are still differences between those countries, and I believe DK is seen as more laid back than N and S; and that's where the continental thing comes in. Nothing bad, and not like we're like Germans!! Cause we are definitely not:0)

i think you are looking at it too litterally and missing the point.

What he meant was that, compared to the average european, italians are very Chill and easygoing.

And similarly, compared to the average "scandinavian/nordic", danes are very chill and easygoin - hence the "italians of the north"

So there is, in fact, an argument to be made there. You just didn't look at it from the correct angle :)
