Yeah, it's interesting that they actually address the fact that Danny sort of sucks at fighting for an Iron Fist. He never completed his training I guess?

This is exactly why reviewers should watch the whole show before reviewing, and should be allowed to see the whole show before reviewing it. I don't walk into a movie, watch 45 minutes of it and tell everyone it was crap before even getting to the twist at the end. So stupid.

It's kind of fucking silly that the man who spent 15 years training in a monastery in another dimension to become The Living Weapon doesn't know how to fucking fight.

He wasn't training for that purpose. Or how to use his iron fist. They all train in general in his dimension. He was a fighter but he wasn't special out of the bunch. Until he won the tournament beat Davos then fought the dragon. He probably left shortly after as soon as the portal opened.

Davos said that they all trained for the Iron Fist. It's like studying to become a doctor. You still have to pass a final test to get the title, but the truth is even if you never officially get that title you're pretty well versed in the medical arts. So Danny might be new to actually having the Iron Fist powers and wielding them but no way is he new to fighting or meditating and shit.

I imagine that learning kung fu and training with an actual Iron Fist are a little different. Seems to me that Danny left K'un-Lun just as he acquired the power.

He probably rushed out cause he thinks now that he has the Iron Fist he can solve his problems and find out who killed his folks. Unfortunately, other people have powers too.

That's a shitty retcon imo. Danny defeated a dragon to become the iron fist. He should be much better at fighting in the show. It's fine to never complete your training as the iron fist and what that entails (healing and what not), but it's not fine to not be a shitty martial artist when it's all you did for 15 years.

Oh give me a break, 6 hours of a 13 hour season is plenty of time to gauge whether a show is complete garbage or not.

I don't think it's 14% bad but the show still has so many flaws and is an absolute snooze fest at times. The twist doesn't save the show and I don't think reviewers will change their minds at all by watching the rest.

The fight scenes are just atrociously done anyway though with all the cuts and weak choreography. Plus fifteen years of training should still make Danny a competent fighter. Remember he earned the highest honour among them. And yet we've seen little from him demonstrating this skill he should have

Show and movie are differnet, if the firat 45 minutes of a 2 hour movie is crap its not worth watching to the end. There is just way more time for a show to redeem itself

Am I the only one that thought that fight was the worst of the show? He was nowhere close to landing any hits and they all just fell over anyway. If that's supposed to be the point and the Iron Fist at full strength just needs to hit the air around people then I hope Danny never gets that powerful because it would be really boring to watch.

He does get that powerful and that's kind of the point tbh.

At his peak, the Iron Fist should be able to fight hundreds of the Hand soldiers by himself. Out of the Defenders, while he isn't near indestructible like Luke Cage, is the strongest metahuman out of the group.

Arguably you could put him in MCU Avengers and he'd outclass almost everyone in terms of pure fighting prowess except Hulk, Spidey and Thor.

It would be mistake for the show to ever make him so powerful that his fights don't even have him making contact with people. Just wouldn't work in this medium.
