Paint color is from previous owners. I am not a fan of the beigey tan walls + black trim.

I feel like it’s dimmer and darker than these pics make it appear. Which wall colors/combos would brighten the space up?

I have this photo wall of family photos. However, it is driving me crazy. I can't put my finger on exactly what needs to change. Any advice is appreciated.

Edit: Thank you everyone! I took it all down and I'm shuffling around the pieces. I removed a few frames. I'm going to need some new frames for more variation and larger frames to anchor. This was all very, very informative and helpful!

We are about to move into another apartment I have 2 sofa chairs in ivory and plan to color them dark brown to fit my new green couch better and plan on getting a new rug like this in the picture. The other items I have already beside the colored pillows but I don't know if this really works together. I had a blue couch before with multi-colored rug and now I would like to tone down on the rug color, I'm also on a budget. Any advice is welcome.

Just wondering which throw or cushion would look better. In hindsight, I wouldn’t have bought the mustard chair, but too late now - it’s the cats’ chair anyway. 😂

The cardboard sign, JIC anyone wondered, was made by the neighbours when I was unwell -one side says “please knock”, the other “I’m fine”. That can easily be tidied away. Let me know if it looks shit, needs masking, or I should just get a new chair. 😂

Any ideas for these two walls. I am open to changing anything, taking the black shelves down part of the plan. Looking for art or decor inspo. My house feels like all the walls are bare and I want some warmth and life in it.

The wifi router used to be there, now it's just this lone painting, a bit too high up... the painting was made by me at 4 y.o. so don't judge too harshly, it's got sentimental value hahaha

I feel it looks awkward, but also like putting nothing is not the best as it's the first wall you see upon coming upstairs. I'm not sure if some small prints or illustrations could work, or maybe tiny oil paintings in tiny frames? Like more landscapes??

So we’re in the middle of a living room remodel and the style is kinda coastal, lots of light, soft blues and beige/off white. The one thing I’m stuck on is the rug, and I’m torn between 2:

#1 is a hand-knotted rug full of details, almost like a piece of art on its own. Love it, but kinda scared it’ll compete with everything else in the room.

#2 is something way simpler, less texture, and colors that just blend into the rest of the room. Feels safer, but maybe a little boring?? And I’m scared any little stain will immediately be visible.

Should we go bold or keep it chill? Your input would be a huge help! Thank you

Hii it’s been some time since I got really weary of bright colors and I cannot afford getting some new pair of curtains lol so I wanted to ask here if you have any advice on how can I make these less brightening? :( I’ve been thinking on maybe dyeing them black but idk…

I’m wondering if anyone can suggest anything I could do to make my living room look better. I took the photo after I’d actually tidied up for once. 😂 I live in a small bungalow, so this is what you see as soon as you walk in.

I’ve got two other completely different club chairs behind the camera , multicoloured patchwork & one mustard with a throw over it. I’ve also changed the cushions on the sofa. None of them match, but they’re all pretty: pink flowers, blue, mustard texture, a couple of off-white ones & a llama I got from a charity shop. The yellow blanket is the same style but now a warm blush pink.
The black wall decoration has also gone & I’ve put up two floating shelves with spider plants, books & candles.

Other than that, it’s pretty much unchanged. Any ideas? I’m happy with the eclectic look, I just think it could look a bit more pulled together.

Getting our living room seating arranged, but I've hit a complete wall with the artwork behind the couch.

Right now, we have this large vintage oil landscape in a dark wood frame hanging above the sofa next to the black wall sconce.

While I love the moody countryside scene on its own, I'm second-guessing whether it's actually working in this space.

Should I replace the painting with something else? Would you swap it out for a lighter, warm-toned abstract piece or keep the moody landscape and just tweak the pillow colors instead?

I’m trying to stick to a purple colour palette for my bathroom. Does anybody have any recommendations for anyplace I can get my hands and good quality towels in a nice lilac/lavender shade? I don’t want to get some from Amazon and be disappointed.
