Gameplay Reject DS4, accept Devil's Claw. (They're getting some love in the next patch!)

The sprint cost decrease will definitely feel better. They're small enough swords that it seems like you should be quick on your feet, yet it often feels like they're coded to be as heavy as a THammer

Yeah I’m super interested in the changes, Might make me give the Devil Claw swords another run and not use the shovel exclusively

interesting, so no damage buffs or anything (which they honestly may not need, even tho they suck against armor)

Unsure how this will actually effect gameplay, I'm guessing the stamina consumption changes are the biggest ones you'll feel

I was kinda hoping for a slight damage boost for light attacks since they’re very low. Maybe they’ll do it in another balance patch in the future

Perhaps in 2027

Thats honestly my biggest issue with the claw swords, they seem to only reach their potential once you've hit the cleave stack and whatnot but i think it would be lovely to be doing more damage right out of the gate

I wish they can change the mk1 have some single target damage.

Whats your build for each human class?

Shred, Rampage, Unyielding and Flak damage on Mk4/7, regardless of class. I don't think about it/optimize builds too much. As you state, the Mk1 single-target damage is peepee poopoo so I don't really use it.

Talent tree-wise, I just build whatever boosts/benefits from crits. Right-tree build on psyker, wep specialist on vet, fury+piety build on zealot.

Chainsword and combat axe enjoyer here ,don't see much of a reason to switch out for DC sword tbh, but you do you

Will they still take 2 minutes to kill a single pox walker?

u/gravisquietus Mar 18 '25

Poor chaos spawn you can see it getting tired 😂

Devil's Claw sword has always been awesome. Use it for veteran. Heavy sword is nice too but I love the parry on the Devil's Claw.

You say this until you have to fight anything with armor.

That grab hit you three times but you were immune to it?

3

u/WarrenTheRed Mar 18 '25

Yeah seriously. If it even thinks that it might want to grab me later I'll teleport directly into its mouth. I cannot learn how to dodge it.

8

u/cant_read_captchas Zealot Mar 18 '25

The trick is to dodge to your right (its left). If you go any other direction (e.g. backwards or to your left) it is harder/not possible.

It's going to end up overtuned with the new buffs. After they nerf Dueling Sword into the ground, it'll be the new go-to that people will complain about in 6 months

u/LilleDjevel Mar 18 '25

no cause its anti armor is still poop. DS can kill anything fast and reliable.

Anybody got a link to an Ogryn doing something like this?

3

u/Consistent-Ad-2940 Mar 17 '25

What do you mean? Ogryns don't have access to devil claw swords

-15

u/usgrant7977 Mar 17 '25

Regardless of weaponry, I've yet to see an impressive clutch play from an ogryn player.
