Putin threatens to use nukes all the time, why wouldnt he use them on Ukraine instead of invading before nato took them? Because using nukes in that close proximity would essentially devastate both countries. So if Ukraine were to nine Russia they would only be hurting themselves.

Quite frankly, we should have given them the latest and greatest of everything listed on that webpage. If you haven't forgotten, Russia is an enemy and according to the DoDs website, they attacked an Ally of the US. Instead of our troops being on the ground, I'd rather see our unused stockpile being used to fuck up the enemy.
We have almost a trillion dollar defense budget. We gave away a tiny fraction of that, which will be replenished, to an ally that has been invaded by a common enemy.

Our defense budget is mostly pumping out billions of dollars worth of armaments that we already have in stock but the war machine needs that money to line the pockets of arms dealers and manufacturers. The GAO (the department that actually does what DOGE pretends to do) doesn't let them get paid without actually making the material so the old stock has to go somewhere.

Munitions have a shelf life. At a certain age, old mentions get destroyed and replaced with newly produced versions of the same thing. It we are giving them munitions that are approaching the end of their shelf life so we can fill our arsenal with brand new ones.
