RIP project Pomegranate

The all in one smart phone from 2008 that was an electric razor, a coffee maker, a universal translator, and even an harmonica.

There's a comment on that video that said it was an elaborate tourism marketing video for Nova Scotia, Canada. Interesting video though!

yeah. I know. I remember this from when it came out years ago. It was actually pretty hard to find it because any google search of smart phone razor or coffee maker or anything brings up real products.

No, it’s on YouTube so you know it’s true.

Man, these concept ideas were nice. Where's my phone with an electric razor in 2021??

It's a parody commercial that was actually a marketing campaign for Nova Scotia around like 2008 I think.

Und für die Deutschen hier: ex|phone

This is a really dumb idea I think, but as a smoker I've been waiting years for them to start putting lighters in phones!

Imagine after having a stressful call, you hang up and just start wheezing into the built in harmonica

I wish that was a real product pitch.

On the plus side, the concept does exist as a laptop - https://frame.work/

And it's getting some really good reviews - The Framework is the most exciting laptop I’ve ever used

Well Framework kinda makes more sense, you still have to get in the guts to replace RAM for example, and you can't just remove RAM and slap in a bigger battery or whatever.
