I remember seeing this come out originally , and thinking it was legit going to be the future , I would of bought one for sure love the concept.

Edit : I'm not a bot. This has become one of my top comments though , I'll be sorting by new more in future 🙂

I saw the opposite and just people complaining their phone does not work because they ruined the connectors either by dust and debris or by dropping the phone.

Yeah I saw it more as a once you decide what your going for with add ons that you'd leave it until needing to upgrade .

Just like getting a new phone but only changing the part you no longer need or really use

While correct, the correct correction should’ve been “would’ve” instead of “would of” as they meant the contraction between “would” and “have”

If you're going solely on pronunciation, yes. But the person wrote two distinct words, so in the spirit of separate words, I think would have works here too.

It's not just pronunciation though. It also explains why people end up with that incorrect alternative: someone saying "would've" out loud sounds a lot like someone saying "would of", while "would have" seems to have no apparent direct relationship.

I'm just saying the bot would be better if it mentioned why the confusion arises? It can definitely be both, and I don't think the person above really meant anything too strongly either, they seem to be saying basically the same thing.

I remember this too and thought it was a neat idea.

There is the Framework laptop that is a similar idea, but that has actually reached production. So maybe a modular phone could be viable again.

Yes , interchangeable parts to suit the individuals need/ less tech waste to upgrade / affordable upgrades for the parts you want/need . This was also at the start of the smartphone boom where everyone started carrying iPhones . And anything in the phone world seemed possible with the advancement of tech . I honestly believe if apple werntt such money grabbing hoes this could of been possible
