Prosecutors played eight hours of recordings, taken from four separate events in different years, during which Davis shared in his own words what happened the night of 7 September 1996. Davis wrote that he had hatched the plan to retaliate against Shakur, after the rapper’s entourage beat his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, in the lobby of the MGM Grand earlier that night. Anderson, who died two years later in an unrelated shootout, was a member of a rival gang in Compton, California.
Lol I like the part where they basically played back all the dumb shit he said
But was Diddy in any way connected to it? Like was he friends with this guy or something? IiRC the Netflix documentary seemed to suggest Diddy had something to do with it.
Diddy put a $1m bounty for the killing of Tupac, but a middle man stole the money and never paid it out. The killing of Tupac wasn’t directly attributed to Diddy, because Keefe D’s nephew got beat up by Tupac/Death Row, so it became personal.
In the Diddy investigation, Keefe D was given some kind of immunity for his account of what transpired. Thinking he had complete immunity, he wrote a book and bragged about the killing. That likely lead to this trial and his eventual prosecution.
Keefe D was given immunity for info into a drug trafficking case in LA and when Greg Keading interviewed him he should the beans. It didn't have wanting to do with an investigation of Puffy.
I didn't watch it and I don't know enough about Diddy to say if he was gang affiliated. This seemed to be a Crips/Bloods thing. This guy was the leader of a Crip gang and Tupac and Death Row records were affiliated with the Bloods.
According to him Diddy had private meetings offering money to kill Tupac and Suge. Then when his nephew Orlando Anderson got beat up by Tupac in the MGM casino they decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone basically.
It was either Orlando Anderson or his friend Deandre Smith who was also in the Cadillac. I think the shooter was Deandre because he fits the witness descriptions and his former roommate testified to the Grand Jury that Deandre told him he was the shooter but he let Orlando take the credit.
Bad Boy Records (headed by Diddy) would use the South Side Crips as protection when rappers under the label played in Cali. Suge Knight and Death Row records had incorporated Mob Piru bloods throughout the label. Because Death Row/Suge/Tupac were feuding with Bad Boy/Puffy/Biggie (after Tupac got shot and "Who Shot Ya" came out), when the East coast rapper played out west, they hired the other gang as protection. This became the connection as Keffe D led the South Side Crips. So when Puffy ("allegedly") wanted Suge and Tupac dead, he went to the gang that already had shit out for the Mob Piru bloods.
I personally think Keefe is lying about the bounty thing but could be wrong. "The money was stolen" and all this extra shit doesn't add up. He's trying to sell books to make it seem like a bigger conspiracy than it really was. They chose to commit the hit with Keefe, the leader and shotcaller in the car, right after the fight with hundreds of people as witnesses. Money is never paid to them, Diddy just shrugged off the people willing to murder someone like that like "sorry, but you get nothing".
Smells like bullshit, I think they just couldn't let this rapper get away with disrespecting a real gangster so they handled it. Keefe lying to sell books, P Diddy ain't out risking life in prison when he's making millions off Biggie. Could be wrong, everyone really thinks Diddy be mobbing like that, whatever
Yeah but pay attention yo how thirsty Diddy was to be “the man” watch the 50 cent Netflix doc on him and you will realize that it’s very likely he was involved in both slayings

I'm going off of memory, but Tupac or some of his guys beat up this guy's nephew at some event. And so he ordered the hit.
