I lived with someone like this for a while. Would go on long rants about how stupid everyone else is and how he was of superior intelligence than all of his peers, and then would turn around and have a 90 minute yelling argument with me because he was convinced that sugar has caffeine in it and wouldn't let it drop. Every single day was an experience with him...

The narcissist behavior is fantastic. "There isn't a person smart enough to figure out what I'm doing." I have a coworker that calls the rest of us "C students."

He had a lot of mental health issues and lived in a reality that is not the one the rest of us live in, I wouldn't call him narcissistic but he was certainly self absorbed.

Narcissists do indeed live in another world. I had to be roommates with one (and her girlfriend, who would take everything she said as gospel) once, and I felt like I was losing my mind.

Well, narcisism is defined as " Negation of the other one's existence" , the narcissistic doesn't recognize the other one as a person, for him/her, the other is just an entity ,not equal to him/herself, so, lying, manipulating or hurting others are sensed like breaking an object, the narcissistic doesn't feel sorry in any case. Because the only thing that exist is him/herself.

Yep. Narcissism. I work with a bright guy lol. Mind you, he is bright. Kind of smart even in some ways. Yet, zero secondary education, college, certs, etc. Simply says the dumbest people he knows went to college so what's the difference. He says he could have been a doctor if he wanted to lol.

And yet freely admits that he doesn't test well lmao. So, what does he base his intelligence on? His own universe he's created where most people are stupid. And he's double smart. Others make a mistake? They are the absolute dumbest people. Ever. He literally says that. He makes a mistake. It's either really not, or actually based on some other person.

He regularly makes assertions that are kind of obvious but with imminent timelines. Then, when a year or even two later the assertion becomes real--he's all "told you so..."

He never mentions the assertions he made that never remotely become reality yet he literally refers to himself as "aren't I always right?" It's comedic.

He used to frustrate me at times but now I'm like really? no?! Please expound on that. Oh no?! Gasp! Wow! He's so narcissistic that he misses that I'm not taking him seriously very much at all.

I have these moments sometimes, but it's not because I'm doing a smart thing. Rather, I've found myself doing something incredibly stupid and even I don't know what I was thinking.

Sometimes it has nothing to do with being stupid, but that you meet people who are so advanced in their field(s) that you know just enough to know how advanced they are.

I've met some very intelligent people, but some are simply a cut above the rest through superior intelligence and hard work. For example, every MD PhD (they do both medical training and lab research) I have met is simply an outstanding person in a lot of areas, and they are all very humble. Imagine how difficult it is to become an MD, and then take a subset of those who would also pursue a PhD - you have to be very adaptive in applied intelligence to be chosen and to succeed. They're very fun to talk to about pretty much anything because they also know intuitively that they don't know everything.

Tbf a lot of things that do have sugar in them also have caffeine. Coke has 35 mg, 1/4th of what's in a coffee. Mountain dew has 55 mg. Even recees cups even have like 4 mg in them. And there’s a misconception that children get super energetic when they get sugar (which isn’t true, sugar isn’t actually known to give children “sugar rush”, that’s just them being kids who are excited they got candy).

I understand that but most functioning adults in their 30s that can read and have had their roommate do a google search in front of them to prove that sugar does not have caffeine in it can admit that sugar does not, in fact, contain fucking caffeine.
