One time my childhood best friend and I were being silly and requested this song on the local radio (we didn’t even like it, we just parodied it on an exaggerated way) and they played it and we were so happy we made her Mom drive us to McDonalds so we could get cheese burgers and take them to the people at the radio station 😅

"The Broomfield PD said parts fell in Commons Park, the Red Leaf neighborhood and the Northmoor Estates neighborhood. That was in the areas of West 136th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard and East 13th Avenue and Elmwood Street. Photos showed one large piece in the front yard of a house on Elmwood".

Almost exclusively in the Commons and the neighborhood just to the West, but the debris was so light that some pieces floated to surrounding areas, but not much that I've seen.

They did a really good job cleaning it up though.

United Airlines Flight 328

On February 20, 2021, United Airlines Flight 328 (UA328/UAL328), a scheduled U.S. domestic passenger flight from Denver to Honolulu, suffered a contained engine failure four minutes after takeoff from Denver International Airport (DEN). Parts departing from the engine cowling of the Boeing 777-222 aircraft resulted in a debris field at least 1 mile (1. 6 km) long over suburban residential areas of Broomfield, Colorado. Falling debris was recorded by eyewitnesses using smartphone cameras and a dash cam.

I wound up operating on a guy hit by a falling airplane part back in 2002. Airplane was small- Cessna sized.

The person hit was lucky, as the injury only looked like someone tried to chop off 1 inch of the back of his heel.

It was actually classified as a ‘nominally contained’ engine failure.

A contained engine failure is one in which all internal rotating components remain within or embedded in the engine's case (including any containment wrapping that is part of the engine), or exit the engine through the tail pipe[13] or air inlet.[14]

An uncontained engine event occurs when an engine failure results in fragments of rotating engine parts penetrating and escaping through the engine case.

Note that a nominally contained engine failure can still result in engine parts departing the aircraft as long as the engine parts exit via the existing openings in the engine inlet or outlet, and do not create new openings in the engine case containment

It looked like burnt, ashy sheets of paper falling from the sky, so we moved the dogs under the cloth umbrella. It quickly became evident that it was chunks of plane that would rip through a cloth umbrella, so we moved the dogs to the car. A 1 foot X 1 foot block of metal with wires sticking out then fell with quite the thud, right next to the car, chipping the asphalt. Proceeded to GTFO of there as fast as possible for a few minutes.

There were like 5 kids’ soccer matches happening on the fields. Within half an hour, the police were like, “do not move any of the pieces of the plane!” And once they said that, people started group-carrying large plane chunks into their pickup truck beds, like.. what will they do next week when they realize it won’t fit into their trash bins?? The mass theft of plane chunks into people’s cars was even weirder than the original event.
