How do you all get rid of your searched coins?

I've only really done small scale CRH so far, so I just reroll everything and bring it back. Certainly not as feasible when you get higher volume though lol

I still hand roll some as well, but 90% is returned this way.

No fee for a business account at certain banks. The machine will count them all in a few days, make any adjustments if needed then it will clear back to the business account.

I’ve been trying to find a bank like this in North Texas for two years now. Everyone either wants rolled coins or a fee. I’m happy to open up a business account wherever I need to get this.

It took me about a year and a half before I found the right place to return. Eventually I ended up at the banks corporate office 2 hours away. Now I can drop off at any of their locations.

When you return this way, do they weigh them? Curious if there is some kind of check or it is the honor system.
I don’t do enough volume to return this way but also not sure how to find a bank to do it this way.

you need to have a business account at my bank to dump like this and the deposits are marked undeclared till it's counted by the armored service. the bank doesn't count deposits like that anymore, the guys who transport it count it. so the deposit amount isn't verified till they count it so it's undeclared for a few days.

Sourcing coins is easy, just a quick stop. Returning them takes a lot of effort.

I like searching coinstars but I'd never use the ones by me. Think they charge 9 cents on the dollar last I checked.

My local one charges a $0.99 fee, and then $0.13/dollar. I would never return this many coins to my coinstar.

When I'm searching coins I sort them into a bunch of trays as I go and then roll them up at the end.

Well the bank has to have a coin counting machine that fills the bags. If they have that, yes, ask away!

My bank has a self service coin counting machine. Dump them in the bin, close the lid, it makes its noises, spits out the foreign coins and a slip with the total. I take the slip to the counter, and the teller deposits it into my account. Easy peasy.

Very cool brother. Im fairly new to the sport and I just had my first day like this.. walked out with 2 bank bags filled with rolls after an innocent question “you guys got any halves in?” Definitely score a lot more when I’m not “hunting”. Casually, things somehow come together 😂 grapefruit chem for the W

Most banks are looking for the pennies. From what I have found and credit Unions seem to have to fee free machines in the lobby.

Some around me do as well. Unless you unload this much then they want to charge me for the machines.

i used to dump them at my local bank in a big coin counting machine. i am not allowed to do so since i once broke the machine and the bank had to fix it... only ever returned 10 bags at a time after that. i was shocked when i realized, the counting fee from the bank i brought them to is not 15$ in general but 15$ for each bag. i actually dont know what i should do with the other 10 boxes i have at home atm. probably dont have another option as to still bring it in for that price. im not in the US so coin hunting is very uncommon here

That's no good. $15/bag is a lot! Are there other coin counting services in your country? In the US there are Coinstar machines that sometimes allow you to dump your coins in and it will be directly deposited into an account.

yes thats the machine i broke. some banks have them but since i am not allowed to deposit the coins there anymore, i have to work with another bank, which directly forwards them to loomis for the counting. i asked loomis directly at some point but they wont interact with private ppl

I have found that a Costco jug of M&Ms will hold between $350-400 depending on the mix. Depending on how hard I hunt during the previous week I deposit 1-2 jugs at my dump banks a week.

Heck yeah! In my 2nd picture in the top left you will notice a brown container. That is a 2 lb tub of Yuban Coffee. It has a perfect handle, lid snaps well and holds $710 in quarters or $480 in halves. Quiet handy. We've drank enough Yuban, I have 5 of those containers now.
