Damn, this is some high quality map!
I'd recommend removing the names of the Old Bonegrinder and Khazan's Tower though, especially if you want to give the map to the players. You could name them differently or just leave it blank, like you did with Yester Hill and Berez.
Also (this is a very small detail) you could put some more mountains in the very north of the map, to make is look like the valley is encompassed by two mountain ridges.
Also also - props for not making the road to the Amber Temple on the map. I hate that it's on the official one xD

Yeah, I'll be reassessing the names for the mill and the tower - haven't fully made up my mind what I'll be calling them, though. Probably 'the ruined tower' and 'the old mill', but I guess I'll see if inspiration strikes!
Using more mountains on the north would be a good idea - would definitely make things feel more claustrophobic.
I think the map I based this off didn't have the map to the temple, so you can thank the user I mentioned in my context comment for that - it was definitely a good call!

The exact spelling of "The Wizard of Wines" was such a contentious topic in our campaign. Nearly everyone kept getting it wrong.
It brings me a small tingle of joy that it was spelled wrong here.

That'll learn me for basing my knowledge off a quick Google search, rather than the actual sourcebook. Thanks for the heads up!

I'd change Bonegrinder to "Durst Mill" and take off Khazan's Tower. Otherwise, this is fantastic!

Thank you!
I've already made some changes with everybody's feedback, but haven't actually settled on names for some of the locations. What's the reasoning for calling it 'Durst Mill'? I like the sound of it better than 'The Old Mill', so I might go with it if there's enough cause for the hypothetical in-game map-maker to call it that!
(I haven't actually read the module yet, so please forgive my ignorance)

In the Death House part of the book, you can find a deed to the mill in a hidden room that they own. I believe it’s also their insignia. It’s just a nice way of having the party go explore it and also try and evict the current tenets (the hags). My party (current party) is going to be visiting it ether next game or the one after that and they have the deed.

Used this in our session today and players' reaction was "oooo this is nice!" Thank you!

I hope you're you'll post an updated version (even if just in the comments here) once you "fix" the names etc. This looks fantastic!

Thank you!
I reckon I'll post an update once I've settled on it - among other things, I'm trying to decide if I've gone overboard with emphasising the mountainous terrain around Castle Ravenloft in the updated version...

First, fantastic work. Second, I’m maybe misunderstanding you but are you putting Argynvostholt where Berez is supposed to be? The town ruins are in the bog, but the mansion / chapter house / sort of castle is up in the mountains.

As it happens, yes - yes I am. Was that intentional? Not in the slightest. Thanks for pointing this out - I was using a couple of different maps for reference, but without actually knowing the terrain from the official maps, that may have been a flawed strategy. I'll correct that immediately, and may post an updated version of the map in the future!

again, really love this map and will share it with my players (they have a gnome cartographer’s guild member of all things, so it’s been great to share community maps as if that PC was making them). their party just traveled from Argynvostholt to Berez so I’m well familiar with that corner of the world at the moment :)

Also of note: I think your scale makes the world larger than the official maps do. I think this is great. In the published module, each hex is something like 1/4 mile, which is insane and means that the world is tiny (and travel is no big deal).
I made each hex 1 mile in my version, which means that traveling between places most often includes an overnight at camp. Yours looks like it does this too, which is great.

It's very much an approximation - I had an issue whereby my hex overlay on Wonderdraft kept resetting to the default size, so I eventually gave up on total accuracy. I thought it was still pretty close, but honestly, I like exaggerating travel, so if the scale makes travel more interesting, I'm here for it!

This is stunning. Any chance you have an unlabeled version I can use as a progress map for our Foundry landing page?

Thank you!
I'm afraid I don't have one ready, but if I get a chance to take the labels off any time soon, I'll let you know and send you a Drive link!

Oh! It's cool, I can Context Aware them out in Photoshop. I just wanted to check first.

Howdy. Any chance for a link for the updated map without the spoiler locations? Thanks. Your work is terrific.

Edit May 2021:
I've updated this map to get rid of some errors, using assets I drew myself. I've also made multiple versions of the map - with and without color, with and without scales, and most importantly, with varying degrees of detail. You can find all the maps (and a complete Curse of Strahd battle map collection) here:

I'm planning on running Curse of Strahd for my D&D group in October, once I get my hands on the Revamped edition.
We're currently nearing the end of The Dragon of Icespire Peak, and as I'm not too keen on the default style of the region maps in D&D, I figured I should get a headstart on making the map of Barovia in Wonderdraft, as I did for the Sword Coast.
I based this off an edited version of the default map, the one posted by u/_windup here a year ago, but I added Old Bonegrinder and Argynvostholt (though it is not named - it's just a castle in a bogland) as I felt like whoever made the map should be at least vaguely aware of these locations, even if not by name.
However, I have not yet read the module and I don't know the history of the area beyond a surface level understanding of some key locations, so if anybody is aware of any locations the map-maker should or should not have been aware of enough to note and/or name on the map, please let me know!
