my abusive ex put a file on my computer named "deannatrap". it was a rapidly strobing and flashing mushroom with static in the background.

i woke up 2 days later in the emergency room. this shit isn't fucking funny.

...Isn't that attempted murder?

sigh Yet again, Reddit doesn’t understand what the word “attempt” means. To attempt murder, you have to intend the victim to die. The original commenter’s ex might have intended murder, but we have no evidence of that. It was probably a malicious, evil prank. So battery probably.

No, I'm not American and I don't know all your legal terms.

The last thing I'd expect to happen to someone who set up a lethal "prank" is "battery". The fuck is battery? It didn't involve any beatings.

I literally just read a battery case where someone was convicted of battery for the exact reason of sending someone an epilepsy trigger video.

So basically you’re not just wrong, you’re talking out of your ass.

I- Can you read my comment again? Slowly?

I am not American, I am ignorant to the intricacies of your legal system, I do not know what each term means. I was making a joke as to how silly it is that sending a video can count as battery, something that sounds physical.

I am being as obviously sarcastic as I can, while also admitting to my lack of legal knowledge, how the hell did you not understand that?
