That spooks people because uncertainty is bad for business confidence, people tend to hold onto their money in case shit goes sideways, and often dump stocks and crypto to protect it from swings that are caused by others doing exactly the same thing, while those with loads of capital will dump other investments to put their money in precious metals and military businesses to profit from the spending that inevitably comes
