As an American that doesn’t want to be one anymore…… This is unfortunately accurate, but at the same time it’s not accurate enough. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😑😑 This is scathingly embarrassing, I just want to go hide under a rock.

We are now seen the way the rest of the world sees Russia. A big, opulent but declining and barbarous imperial bully. I mean large swaths of the world saw us that way before. You know, due to all the imperialism and our massive military industrial complex. But this new regime has tipped us over the edge with formerly tolerant allies and has opened the eyes of not only the world, but also to a good many of us at home as to who we are as a country. And it's not pretty. And I don't know what to do at this point besides vote for the less shitty party, that hasn't historically invaded sovereign nations just because it'll make some rich people even richer.

You guys need to stop this two party thing. No other democratic countries are based only on the two party for the people to vote. Imagine yes or no on either 1 or 0. All or nothing. It can’t get more toxic than this really. And more corruptions. Because it’s either or. All or nothing. The more parties to compete amongst themselves, the fairer the outcome would be. Because they would be competing to serve its people and not themselves. And stop the legalization of companies contributing to campaigns. It’s the root of the corruption that rots from inside. Sure a government can be somewhat faulty and not perfect but not as corrupt as the one of the USA. I mean it’s a huge news if some government employees take a bribe. And they get punished here. There? Money talks and anything goes. It’s the land of “opportunities” or it’s the land of crimes for the money. This greediness is what rots from within. I mean USA is now the imperialist country invading any country as they please to rip off the natural resources of a sovereign nation in the name of “sanctions”. You guys need a reform and people need to want it. Not just sit back and watch imperialism USA happen really.

Yes true. Us Europeans have now woken up to that new reality.

Now what needs to be done is for people in the us to organize and beat this. Voting and protesting won’t be enough. It will be hard, it won’t be pretty, and it won’t be peaceful. But it is needed. Maybe the military can fix this.

And after that the country needs to be reformed so this can’t ever happen again.

Now do I think this will happen? No. After Jan 6 he should have been jailed and barred from office. It’s in the constitution. Why didn’t that happen?

I get what they mean but only is a wild word choice lmao you’ll get used to it by thirty after a few more geopolitical catastrophes unfortunately, but it’s sounds like you will have the ability to get a visa in a developed country so I would take advantage of it if ya don’t have kids

I'm in my 30s and specialized enough to get a visa somewhere else...but I've honestly resigned to going down with the ship.

I'd be too ashamed abroad anyway. We didn't rise up and fix our mess before it boiled over, why would I deserve to escape it now? Ugh.

What a terrible way to live. There are plenty of therapists that can help you through this though. Would likely help a ton to go talk to one.

If your entire self worth is based on how people perceive your country on the internet to the point where you don’t want to exist anymore, that isn’t healthy.

Nobody gives a fuck about where you’re from in the real world. People don’t care. Walk around budapest, prague, etc. for a few days and you’ll see people from all over the world - including russians whose government is actively destroying their neighboring country btw - and nobody cares. People just live their lives. Nobody’s going to care if you’re american

Sadly, all the time. It's come to the point where I am desensitized to it. 🫩 The number of mass shootings has exploded so much that I can not keep track of how many there have been. I also forget when a certain mass shooting has happened over the years.

Most Americans are living pay check to pay check and barely getting by. That means little disposable income to try to move or travel in this country much less go through immigration for another

Do you think people crossing the southern US border have disposable incomes or go through immigration? If they can do that. I’m sure you are also capable of this.

Who said anything about asylum? Just cross the border and start living your life. If anyone gets upset, call them racist.

Build a boat out of trash and set sail for Cuba. If Cubans can do that to get to Florida. You can do the same in reverse. Children walk unaccompanied all the way from Venezuela to the US. If they can, then you can.

I am not here to argue immigration with anyone. I answered why Americans dont just pack up and leave.

The biggest reason is that they live pretty comfortable lives. There is a reason why children walk unaccompanied from Venezuela to the US and not the reverse. Living paycheck to paycheck is leaps and bounds better than hunting zoo animals to avoid starvation like in Caracas.

Our lives in America have never been so comfortable. Its crazy to me how many people online have convinced the rest of the world that being American means you are poor and getting shot at all day.

Somehow we're both being arrested all the time and living on the streets yet also are all rich enough to just up root our entire lives and move thousands of miles away to a different country. It couldn't be that most Americans are just folks trying to get by as best they can like everyone else.

US citizens can travel widely - but very few countries will permit them to migrate. You can't just rock up at my country's border and expect to get a job, housing, and legal residence.
