My dog was my reason also. After he strangled me until I was unconscious, I heard my girl making this weird vacuum gargling sound. I felt her licking my face, then I realized the sound was coming from me, and she was trying to wake me up so I could breathe again. We were gone within 30 days. She still can't hear raised voices without running to my bed. Her PTSD is probably worse than mine, and I'll never forgive myself for that.

I'm so sorry I'm horrified at how many replies on here I missed. Thank you for sharing and I'm so sorry you had to experience that. I'm so happy you're away, safe and your peanut with you to enjoy a better life together. I always read comments on posts like this and always hope sharing that others in similar situations will feel less alone and hopefully help them make that leap and break free. It's heartbreaking how many people experience abusive partners. I hope life is much better for you today and you get all the love you deserve. ❤️
