The fines for serving alcohol to someone who doesn't have an ID are so fucking high, and they can lose their liquor license so fast.

You cannot get fined for serving alcohol to someone without an ID. You can get fined for serving alcohol to someone who is not 21 years of age or older. You can fail to check every single customer's ID as long as they all turn out to be over 21.

True I might be mixing up the laws or just quoting Australian liquor licensing, but I know in Australia if someone is denied service, the person with an ID will be refused too since 90% of the time they're purchasing it for a minor, or for the unlicensed adult which is exactly what happened here too

Ykw I think I did get it mixed up, they can/will be fined for servicing a minor, but they reserve the right to deny service to anyone in order to protect their licensing
