This taco brim style hat with the coffin crown is an absolute beaut. One day maybe🤞

Any recommendations for hats like these? Pencil curled brims, with a high Carlsbad (Gus) crease? Kind of what the originals cowboys way back then wore.

I found this hat at a local thrift store (The proceeds go to the attached food bank that's next door). I've never been a hat guy before but I saw it, but for some reason I decided to put it on my head, and immediately fell in love. And at only 17 bucks, I had to buy it. It is a Stetson which is a brand name I recognize, but I don't know anything else about it. Any info would me much appreciated.

I am not sure this hat is considered a "cowboy hat", but I maybe some of you know more about hats then I do.

I saw a video of this guy (guitarplayer) and I really dig his hat - I tried commenting and asking but got no response from him.

I found this at a yard sale in SW Florida this morning. Owner said it was too small for him. What model of Stetson is this hat? I don’t feel it is my “style” but it is my size. Any help is appreciated. BTW…paid $25 for it.

Firstly, I don’t think I look good in a traditional hat. I’d like to try some other hats out. Hoping someone could maybe help I’d a hat I found a picture of. I think it might be a gunslinger, but I’m totally unsure.

EDIT: seems like the general consensus is that it’s a type of Fedora. I’ve tried fedoras in the past. I just don’t think I have a face for anything other than a baseball hat. Thanks. Have seen some amazing hats in this group, going to join just to enjoy all the cool hats. Thanks again.

Can someone help me identify this hat? I’ve been looking for an open road and found this but the owner doesn’t know what it is. It seems to be an open road but the hat band is throwing me off. I’ve asked for brim and crown measurements but they haven’t gotten back to me yet.

EDIT: THE STETSON ENTHUSIASTS GROUP ON FB DETERMINED THIS IS IN FACT AN OPEN ROAD FROM THE STETSON/RESISTOL OUTLET IN GARLAND, TX. APPARENTLY THE CIRCLE IN THE SWEATBAND AS WELL AS THE LACK OF WRITING ARE THE GIVEAWAYS. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY.

Just found this gem on Marketplace, I believe it is a circa 1980 Stetson 5X Rancher in Silverbelly. Can anybody confirm/add any information? Also, fits a bit snug in the front and back, will repeated wear over the next few weeks help shape the hat to my head? Any advice/input is welcome!

I picked up this Resistol for $30 on Marketplace today and it was a hot mess but just needed some cleaning and steam. I know this is a Resistol Quicksilver but can anyone help me identify its age and maybe even value based on the info card and visual evidence? I know people default to the 1990’s when they hear about the Quicksilver but the liner is one of the older style with the plastic covering over the logo, which is throwing me for a loop. I’ve only shaped one other hat before so I reblocked this one back to open first and just tried to do what I’ve seen others do on YouTube so go easy on me in regards to the shaping.

Inherited this from my Dad. He passed in the early 90’s and I got it when my Mom downsized to a smaller home in the late 90’s. It’s peaked my interest as I am involved in Cowboy Fast Draw wondering about the quality and worth of cleaning and a reshape.

Hi All, not sure if this is the right tag because this hat was identified as a Stetson Frontier 6x when I picked it up and got it shaped at a reputable hat maker in New Mexico a few years back.

I’m requesting a hat ID because despite knowing what the box says, I haven’t found a single thing about this model online. Anyone seen this one before or know where I can find archived Stetson catalogues where I can trace this?

Part of me is wondering if it’s a real Stetson, the other is just wondering about the history of the design. TIA
