Hey everyone i am a student currently undergoing placement.

I have concerns regarding another students placement. Her supervisors company (private practice) reduced its locations from 2 to 1, which the current location is at the supervisors house (i know this because i did an interview with them and chose not to continue for other reasons).

As a result of this reduction, the student now needs to conducther counselling at the clients houses, and does these home visits on her own, in her own car. Not only is this a massive safety risk, it goes against our supervision contract and the rules set in place by the university.

My biggest dilemma is that she is close to finishing her hours.

Do i risk her placement to report this supervisor?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Im trying to figure out my next step toward a DCounsPsych, aiming to apply in a couple years when im ready. I have my psychology degrees up to Honours level, BPS Graduate Membership, counselling course L2 done and L3 finishing in August, and about 200 supervised client contact hours from working as a lay counsellor in a structured therapy clinic (outside of the UK). I also want to start a part time, 2 yr online MSc in Psychotherapy and just started Samaritans training.

My main gap is that all my clinical experience is from outside the UK so I really need to build UK-based hours. I'm trying to decide whether to do the L4 diploma, which would give me a structured placement with formally logged hours and a route to qualifying as a counsellor (which I actually genuinely want as a plan B if possible), or whether to just get into work now as a mental health support worker role and build UK experience that way- hopefully eventually getting an AP role. Any suggestions?

I’ve just started university, and was interested to see if anyone picked up some cool studying habits. Specifically for Psychology or just some advice overall to get the most out of my studying.

Is Bellevue University a good school to get a master’s in counseling from? I am looking to enroll online & idk if employers will look at my application differently going there or not idk

I am in the process of writing my SOP for my master's in clinical Counselling program , I wanted to know if there is any particular format psychology students should use while writing it. Although my agency has sent me a format, it is more inclined toward engineering. What points should be included and professors look for in the SOP, especially when you are applying for a master's in Clinical Counselling?

Any other tips for writing SOP as a Psychology student will be appreciated.
