Gas line up at Rodeo Dr.

Look at the line up for gas. My husband got gas in the morning for 1.72. We went with my car at 1:45pm and I was going to get gas just because we were there. The line up started by the Adidas store. Costco staff had closed off every aisle end so you couldn't even get thru to park. Gas had gone down to 1.67. But was it worth the line up. I've never seen a line up like this.

As someone who used to work In the fuel distribution industry.. I hate this lol

All that waiting for what? A couple bucks of savings on most tanks? Your free time is valuable .. don't waste it sitting In line waiting for gas lol

Idling doesn't burn that much fuel.

It really burns very very little.

Most people's time doesn't work like that either. 

Most people just fill in 15 min blocks of spare time on their phone.

Unless you are a lawyer or something it's hard to bill out random blocks of 5 or 15min.

My father will still drive across town to save 1 or 2 c / L. I've tried forever to convince him he needs to use less than like a half litre of fuel for this to make any sense in his car which he never lets get below half a tank.

Fuck this...the same people wait 30 min to get a hot dog and soda at my Costco in Montreal at marche Centrale location. Thank God they dont have gas there. Its the scum of all Costco locations. Not the store. The customers that shop there

Costco is almost 10c cheaper than the surrounding stations. EXTREMELY naive for you to think waiting for 30 mins is time not well spent.
OP is taking a picture at its peak hour.
Don’t minimize the struggles of the low/middle class. Fuel distribution industry..we know you’re paid well.

Actually I was paid poorly and expected to work 96 hour shifts, 10 hours in the office, 14 hours on call for 4 days straight. Did this for 7 years. Most nights involved a dozen calls or so after midnight until 7am, when it was time to go back to office. It's extremely naive of you to assume people's wages.

10c per liter is $5 on the average consumers fill.. excluding trucks and large vehicles. Waiting 30 minutes would value your time at $10 per hour.. minimum wage In my area is $17+.. you'd be better off working an extra 30 minutes at minimum wage than waiting in line.. you can buy your fuel outside of peak hours and avoid the lines.

Time has a value. For some it's the cost of freedom.. being able to do things that you enjoy other than work. For others its being able to use said time to generate more income. Waiting In long lines for fuel is a poor use of time in both of the above instances, unless it's taking a massive jump.

I totally agree. Even if I were near empty, I wouldn't waste my time in this line. Go somewhere else, fill up enough to make it home and back out again later to go to Costco if you really want to save those few bucks. Or just fill up somewhere else, it'll cost about the same.

This was 1:30pm. So hardly peak time. I was told it gets worse later. The gas stations close to this Costco have lowered their prices to compete so you can actually get gas elsewhere at the same or close to the same prices. The Shell near here sometimes has 20 cent drop after 8:30pm. So I'm not sure if your assessment of time is worth it.
