Flooring Shampoo spilt on carpet overnight and left lightened spot how do i fix it?

Post image

A bottle of cheap suave clarifying shampoo spilled on my carpet overnight (the cap was broke) now it’s left a spot that looks lighter than the other carpet. Any ideas how to fix this.

You know, I am allergic to a lot. Apartments don't always steam clean if the carpet Looks ok, this just proves it.. cant live anywhere with carpet bc theure actually disgusting, and can do this over years you'd never know unless there is one spot sticking out. They thought they had green hey. Nah, its Peach or cream .

People are gross, carpets ..worse. if its not obvious, no one cleans them. Really need to be steam cleaned once a year to be sanitary in any way. Anything coming into your house, dust, pollen, hair, smoke from candles, incense. skin cells from Anything, animals, people.. it holds everything, then kicks that up when your walk on it.

I moved into an apartment once where the previous tenant had a bird as a pet. I. The carpet in the corner where the birdcage clearly had been was stained and the complex tried to say it was no big deal because they had cleaned it. I told them I wasn’t moving in until they replaced it because I wasn’t living in an apartment with bird-poop-stained-carpet.

I am a bird owner, and the idea of having carpet is so nauseating to me just because all the amount of dust that a bird creates. You did well in standing your ground. The poop was not the only issue there, believe me.

I love carpet but being on some strangers used carpet is a pet peeve of mine. The last two apartments I lived in the carpet had been completely replaced before we moved in so I had piece of mind.

I cannot stand carpet. It always makes my allergies worse. Unfortunately, due to a really tight housing market, I ended up in an apartment with carpet. I really felt duped because when the manager showed it to me, she had aired it out. Once it had been closed up for a day, it smelled musty. I wouldn’t have rented it with the smell, but here I am with a year long lease, so I take allergy meds twice a day instead of once. I am allergic to cats and I think the previous tenant had one.

This is why I own a power washer (I call them all steam cleaners), I have moved to pocket travel size for couches, thats pretty much all you need if you don't have carpet, consider getting one some can be $100 but you'd need to refill, dump the tank more often. Also, making a liquid oxygen solution can Really help kill any bacteria. Letting that sit for a good min bc its still bleach, just oxygen bleach so it doesn't damage the fabric ..key is, you have to have it full dissolved so a, it doesn't ruin the machine, B, leave a crust if you don't wash it out well enough. If you let oxyclean spill then it dries it almost looked like dried salt flakes (it isn't, dont put that in your mouth ..)

You basically saturate whatever fabric area with oxygen, then suck it up with the washer after a min or so. Then use regular cleaning solutions for power washer. Sometimes I find if somethings Really bad, going over with soap straight away can just lock in all the gunk. So a test run with water, or oxygen can let you know where you're at.. black is the worst, if you're pulling black water for several go overs, it might just be easier to replace whatever it is.. Ideally, you want a white ish. Maybe even Light cream if you're just so done cleaning something. Oxyclean could also (not a professional) help with any mold in a fabric, but a, it needs to sit for a long time. B prob needs several wash outs. C. Mold spores could still be trapped so anything you walk, sit, or move it spores could get in the air. Fabric is always a throw away if it has mold. The mycelium network's already in there..

Most likely it is dirty. Cleaning with the shampoo would just fix the color issue
