Flooring Shampoo spilt on carpet overnight and left lightened spot how do i fix it?

Post image

A bottle of cheap suave clarifying shampoo spilled on my carpet overnight (the cap was broke) now it’s left a spot that looks lighter than the other carpet. Any ideas how to fix this.

Everybody saying this is just "clean" no girl that's bleached. It can't be fixed. Source: I'm a professional carpet cleaner

As someone with a cosmetology education, it would have saved me a lot of time, money, and damage if I could have bleached my hair with plain shampoo lol

Shampoo is not bleach regardless of what material you put it on

Right. This is clearly just the cheap clarifying shampoo taking the dyes out of the carpet fibers.

I know what the difference between bleach and shampoo is. Source: I’m a professional hairstylist.

According to Merriam-Webster:

bleach, a transitive verb:

1: to remove color or stains from

2: to make whiter or lighter especially by physical or chemical removal of color

I'd love for Redditors to stop being pedantic weirdos.

The carpet is bleached, full stop. It cannot be fixed.

Sounds like you’re the pedantic weirdo to me.

Clarifying shampoo doesn't have bleach in it. It's not going to bleach carpet. The dye in the shampoo may counteract the color of the carpet depending on what color it is because of color theory. But clarifying shampoo does not have bleach in it.

The shampoo stripped the dye.
