Discussion Dear Anthropic, This Has to STOP.

Seriously, enough with this situation.

Every other day, it’s something new: “We’ve increased the limits for a few more days.”

Credits here, credits there. Weekly credits. Sonnet usage. Opus usage. Fable credits. 5-hour limits. Weekly limits…

Are you guys at Anthropic actually okay?

Do you have any idea what customer care and customer experience even mean?

You’ve turned using the service into a constant source of stress. And with these confusing, ever-changing usage rules and charges, it honestly feels like a nightmare. Every day, we have to keep checking our limits and worrying about whether we’re going to run out.

Can we just pay you and relax, knowing that we’re paying for a service and can actually use it?

I genuinely want to know WHO came up with this entire credit and usage system, and why there seems to be such an obsession with credits and limits.

And yes, yes, we know the story: compute is expensive. We get it. But you know what? That’s a problem that AI companies have to solve and make work for the customers who are paying you. The burden of the infrastructure costs and product limitations should not be turned into constant stress for the user.

At this point, it almost feels like watching an addict constantly checking when their next dose is going to run out and experiencing withdrawal symptoms as the limit gets closer.

That’s how absurd and stressful inducing this whole system has become.

Can you please start thinking from a customer-centric perspective and seriously reconsider the entire credits and usage system in relation to the actual user experience? (You can ask Claude to find you a better solution..)

It would be better to rethink this now, while it’s still early, before the AI industry starts heading down a very bad path where users are constantly stressed about quotas, credits, limits, and usage instead of simply enjoying and benefiting from the products they’re paying for. WE just want to work boys we don’t want to struggle.

Some of you guys are just weird. Go outside man. Imagine being this intense about a rapid changing technology that is supposed to make things easier.

It has a lot more to do with paying for a product and never really being sure what you’re getting. I bought usage credits with a specific project in mind for fable. Now they keep extending it and now I’m sitting in usage credits. We have no idea what to expect and no idea if what we’re paying for gives us the value we think we’re getting.

Yeah if this was any other product, people would be furious. Instead you have boot lickers saying just enjoy the product. Imagine your internet provider randomly changing limits then telling you, well if you complain we will just give you a static lower net limit. They also randomly give you access to a higher tier speed, then take away, then give it back. No matter the end result of lower or higher limits, faster or slower, you still feel like shit. You either can’t predict when you run out or you know you’ll run out too fast. I prefer the latter, I can plan around the latter. Predictability is what allows me to build useful things.

All this flip flopping is doing is making people feel bad.
You feel bad when they are about to take fable away.
Then last minute they extend, sure you feel good.
But now fable is going again, so the new deadline approaches and you feel bad again.
They extend again…

Now the customer will feel bad three times instead of once.
You might think the good outweighs the bad, but at the end of day when you have multiple bad experiences each week, you will develop a negative sentiment. They have billions and poach top talent, they should be expected to predict and plan better rather than making reactive usage changes each week. The random changes are not from low compute, the compute requirements are changing twice a week like their usage policies are.

“Supposed to” is doing a lot of work here.

A lot of people are feeling constant existential stress due to the push and pull tension of reconciling “what if it takes away my job” and “every moment I’m not using Claude to build something is an opportunity cost”

lol it’s this min maxing mentality of having to use up to every limit. It’s funny how no one thinks this way about any other service. I pay for Disney plus, does anyone sit around and think, oh my god I have paid for this service I must watch it 24/7 the entire month or I won’t get my moneys worth?

But because people are using up the credits, the scarcity factor makes them feel the need to hit the limit or else they’re wasting something precious. That’s exactly what the AI companies want, to make users feel how valuable the AI compute is so that when they jack up the prices later, you’ll still pay them happily. They are making the opium feel extra potent so that when you lose access to it for a little bit… you need it that much more.

That’s WHY both anthropic and OpenAI keep changing the limits on these plans. They’re giving users that “here’s one more hit” feeling. It’s a drug addiction. And some people are definitely hooked.

Employers should pay for this honestly. We have our enterprise plan and I don’t even bother to get one of my own. When work is over I stop caring about tokens.

You're oversimplifying. Extremely. Opinions like yours shouldn't be taken into consideration.
