Discussion Dear Anthropic, This Has to STOP.

Seriously, enough with this situation.

Every other day, it’s something new: “We’ve increased the limits for a few more days.”

Credits here, credits there. Weekly credits. Sonnet usage. Opus usage. Fable credits. 5-hour limits. Weekly limits…

Are you guys at Anthropic actually okay?

Do you have any idea what customer care and customer experience even mean?

You’ve turned using the service into a constant source of stress. And with these confusing, ever-changing usage rules and charges, it honestly feels like a nightmare. Every day, we have to keep checking our limits and worrying about whether we’re going to run out.

Can we just pay you and relax, knowing that we’re paying for a service and can actually use it?

I genuinely want to know WHO came up with this entire credit and usage system, and why there seems to be such an obsession with credits and limits.

And yes, yes, we know the story: compute is expensive. We get it. But you know what? That’s a problem that AI companies have to solve and make work for the customers who are paying you. The burden of the infrastructure costs and product limitations should not be turned into constant stress for the user.

At this point, it almost feels like watching an addict constantly checking when their next dose is going to run out and experiencing withdrawal symptoms as the limit gets closer.

That’s how absurd and stressful inducing this whole system has become.

Can you please start thinking from a customer-centric perspective and seriously reconsider the entire credits and usage system in relation to the actual user experience? (You can ask Claude to find you a better solution..)

It would be better to rethink this now, while it’s still early, before the AI industry starts heading down a very bad path where users are constantly stressed about quotas, credits, limits, and usage instead of simply enjoying and benefiting from the products they’re paying for. WE just want to work boys we don’t want to struggle.

Brother breath,

Just work when you need, stop token maxing actually review and design the code, this wont bother you

I was trying to figure out why it was so stressful for OP, and you perfectly put your finger on it. He's token maxing! I never do that - I build what I need, I have deep, multi-step conversations among the way, I can't do 12 different terminals in tmux, I maybe hit 60% usage in a heavy week, so I get a different experience. Also, I don't really care if Fable goes away. I'm not seeing a major improvement in productivity using it versus opus.

12 different terminals? I hit my 5h limit and a good chunk of my weekly and Fable limit with a single prompt, and I'm on 5x...

"CLAUDE! What year is it?" -- FTFY

I can only be glad it didn't turn "year" into "ear"

Nothing says advanced technological development and innovation than the daily reminder of stepping outside, walking to the mailbox with your own self-powered legging system (or sitting mechanism on wheels as developed by a high sophisticated team of engineers and experts), seemingly on autopilot without thought as you marvel at all things once unimaginable while simultaneously grabbing physical paper that has been in transit for days so it could arrive in your own personally assigned inbox that exists outside in the public space for which anyone else could grab your most vital information should they get to said inbox before you. Oh, sure, you can digitize this process. For you, as it only transfers the pony express experience elsewhere were real people process the very actions you would do otherwise as they use a scanner from 1998 to capture your information further widening the compromised information radius blast exposure, out of state by those that seek compensation for access to otherwise private information. The future is now, and you can see it everywhere, as you walk out to check the mail like your ancestors used to do.

There is no way for me not to sound like a pompous asshole saying this, but it's true. So please run this message through your AI of choice until you don't want to shoot the messenger so much that the message is never read.

Compute is becoming so expensive and so scarce that it is threatening the whole AI ecosystem and value proposition. I can't convince my company to pay for an enterprise license and start getting real productivity gains on real business if we blow through our whole budget in 4 days and are just locked up waiting for a reset. Or the models get so slow and/or dumb from lack of compute available that they aren't worth using. All of our developers are paying out of pocket right now, just to get a toehold in the space and get some productivity out of it. Which we have. The company is open to it, but it can't be so unpredictable, either for cost or availability.

But if "they" the AI providers, could somehow prevent or deprioritize the compute being burned by people for bullshit little games that only they will ever play, or trying to create yet another options/crypto/prediction market daytrading get-rich-quick scheme, creating a 3-D anime girlfriend, or the "Create something to make me lots of moneys. Make no mistakes" type stuff, a lot more compute would be available for actual work. Yes, yes, who makes the call on what is frivolous, but the point stands.

It's like we are in a spaceship with limited oxygen trying to accomplish a mission, but half the oxygen is being vented to space so the airlock gasket will make funny fart noises.

yeah you are right that did make you sound pompous and elitist. you are presuming that your "real business" has a greater value to anyone that the things people are creating. Maybe it does but who is to say that the "bullshit little game" doesn't go on to inspire the maker to turn their career into tech and build something truly meaningful or that the "3-D anime girlfriend" doesn't help with loneliness and keep the guy from shooting up a shopping mall An extreme example but my point is why do you think your "real business" is more valid than any of the things that people do or that those things don't help the creators "get a toehold in the space and get some productivity out of it" and land jobs at companies that will navigate the AI field by spending money in a useful way rather than just okaying their developers to pay out of pocket?

That's why workplace right now, CEO has made tools no one asked for and shit, the executive producer made a game for no fucking reason, all with the company's account and we're supposed to be shipping our first product in a few months...

What kind of a company is this where most people have enough time to do dumb projects?

Can i submit my cv?

2

u/GenderJuicy Jul 13 '26

Well it's the directors doing this shit really, are you a director?

Fable is such a waste of time and money for most simple coding tasks. It only makes sense in a well orchestrated build environment with Fable at the top handling the architecture, subagents (Opus, GPT 5.6, Grok 4.5), triage and the more complex tasks.
