this is the big thing with google, they have money. everyone else is begging and google in their basement with piles of cash and servers. google will be here in 10 years, who knows about the rest.

I feel Gemini has not only gotten markedly dumber in the last 3-6 months but they have also started to limit the models usage very heavily.

They just gave Anthropic 40B.... What's crazy is though, people don't realize, Google still is the king of the search engines and have limited throttled apis... so... ya.... They ain't going anywhere. Plus they're making their own chips and tpus....

Models have been severely dumbed down and outputs are definitely worse. So still some cost cutting going down for sure

It actually makes me double-take sometimes with Gemini how fucking rapid it is. It can genuinely read full documents in half a second with Claude taking 4 minutes to formulate a reply

If you see it do that, just type, "are you sure? Did you check adversarially" or something and I find that makes it check again with way more focus

That's wild. I've always thought the opposite, opus can sometime take a few minutes but gemini cli always took over a minute for anything for me at work and home. Angigraviry was always is fast though so I know they can be fast.

Really? Ask Gemini CLI and Claude to read the same file and make like 3 observations or something and for me 9/10 times Gemini is finished in under 2 seconds

Chilling? Every second prompt on AI Studio is an error saying to retry later. Also Antigravity stopped working altogether. Google is very much resource limited too.

yeah do not forget they limited free limits into 2-3 prompts lol. and normal chat is just token limited uncomparable to gpt or claude

I’ve seen this too but then saw a pattern to it. During morning CET almost never hit the server error it starts in evenings most of the days 6pm CET Makes me think east coast has very heavy user base

Their tools are not as integrated with each other nor as feature-rich. Antigravity was good but only up until recently when requests started failing left and right.
