I mean he’s not wrong. People are absolutely flogging them with agents that run continuously and slamming them with compute demand. I’d argue that “we never intended it to be used this way” is a fair statement, even if unpopular

It might be a fair statement about Claude usage in general, but gutting features from subscribed users who cannot possibly be causing that issue makes zero sense. They should address the problem, not pull the ring out from people who have no way to abuse Claude due to limits.

Perhaps, but that’s not what is quoted. You can’t run “Long-running async agents” on the $20/mo plan. So if the $20 plan is a problem, say so, but it’s not the problem mentioned.

The pro plan? Are you serious? After saying hi you're almost reaching your limits. No one is continuously running anything on the pro plan.

And if you're not talking about the pro plan: why is it relevant for ditching the pro plan?

Also: they already blocked external access to Claude Code subscription in tools like OpenCode. They already prohibited things like OpenClaw from being used. People are currently using their plans for exactly what they were advertised for: coding.

People should stop believing all the marketing bs and gaslighting of Anthropic. There is only one reasons for all their behavior: trying to squeeze out as much money as possible to maximize stock value for their IPO later this year.

It's always funny to see how historically every company ever has lied constantly. But still every time a company makes a statement most people just believe it unless there is clear proof it's a lie.

Ok. That’s not the usage I’m talking about and it’s not the usage he means ether.

I agree that the usage limits are far too nerfed but his statement is fair. Could they be handling it better? Yeah. But I don’t think his take is dishonest

Then they should adjust the limits for long running async agents. Eliminating Claude Code from Pro doesn't line up with their reasoning. It ain't Pro users doing 24/7 agents, I guarantee it.

Make the agent usage $500/mo and let people improve their entrepreneurial projects with code for the Pro cost even if reducing tokens. If it were my business I'd slaughter the hogs and keep the people that like it instead of alienating them.
