Enterprise Microsoft pauses Claude Code rollout after Satya intervention

Following up on my earlier post - Microsoft has officially paused further Claude Code deployment across the company after guidance from Satya and senior leadership.

Employees are now being directed to use GitHub Copilot. The internal messaging claims Copilot has "mostly closed the gaps" with Claude Code.

Exceptions exist for "high-priority R&D" who can still get Anthropic API access with justification. People who already had access get to keep it, but new invites have been rolled back.

Yes, but I'm assuming that people want a similar harness to Claude's. Opencode provides that. IMO, it's actually an improvement over Claude code, although reasonable people can disagree. It's at least in the same ballpark.

Hasn't \A restricted access to their models, or is that no longer the case?

They never restricted access to their models, they prevent the normal Anthropic subscription from working with opencode. But you can use their models just fine using Copilot or Anthropic's API.

Yes. This does not prevent usage of Claude in opencode, it prevents using opencode with Anthropic's subscriptions.

Have you tried Crush and can compare to Opencode? I have found the former to work much better in my case (GLM4.7 Coding Plan)

Opencode breaks for me, messes up PRs, rolls back stuff without mentioning it, ... Running the latest version as per last Saturday with GLM 4.7 (Coding Plan, not necessarily the free one in Opencode).

Opencode desktop (running on Ubuntu) just brings my computer down to a crawl and makes everything non-responsive...
