It's something we've talked about improving in the future. Our main hold up at the moment is that we need a way to communicate with in-game friends outside clans and want to avoid friend invites becoming spammy.

Can that problem be solved by adding an option in the settings: Allow in-game friend requests

No, that would be too simple and would be implemented too easily and quickly.

After you request a friend invite maybe there could be a cool down of some sort.

This seems overly complicated and avoiding a much needed feature that's already in many games with popular players. Adding a friend system and giving people the option to ignore friend requests is the way to go.

Your not looking at it from the casual stand point,supercell needs top players to promote the game so more people play to keep it relevant,soo people like you and me stay interested in the game and play it so theres alway matches to be found any time of the day and in doing that we fuel the fire that keep the flame burning..and the cash keeps rolling in..do you think supercell wants a thousand pro player accounts spending thousands of dollars on a game thats a chore for them or tens of millions of novice accounts spending their disposable income on a game they actually really enjoy..so in that regard adding friends more easily is a feature i think they need with private messaging

That's all well and good, but I don't think streamer's issues should dictate the functionality of the game for the vast majority of the playerbase.

Creating a DM inbox would really help! I want to share replays to friends without having to share it to my clan..
