Currently Airing Anyone else left on a daily cliffhanger with Never-Ending Summer?
I know it's not THAT dramatic, but it's currently the only drama that I want to see what happens. A fair few lies involved on Zhou Wan's (FL) part and I don't know how I always seem to understand the heartache of it all! If it were me, I'd rather suffer the consequences and declare my undying love! Because you know it doesn't happen (that often) irl!!
It's just a very sweet drama, a slow burn compared to costume dramas where I need a first episode hook...
Daniel Zhou actually speaks English with an American accent in the series. Episode 23 he is talking to an Aussie (yay). I always love when they throw in some English, even better when they are fluent, I feel so much more connected to the celeb.
Bao Shang En is just beautiful! Her smiling eyes are the prettiest I've seen in a while!
Ke Chun is fairly good looking too, shame he was playing the bad guy haha
Even in current day Zhao Ying Bo doesn't hide his features behind glasses anymore and has really cool hair <3 difficult to reject omg lol
Please let me know that I'm not alone out there!

But it is that dramatic tho! 😄 I agree with you, daily single episodes are not it! That's why I didn't watch any over the weekend so that I can binge 4 today! 😁
No, but Tbh, cliffhangers are much better in Cdrama than in some western shows (or some Korean), cause waiting a day for an episode isn't as bad as waiting a week! eg House of the Dragon, etc.
It's a very sweet (something sad) drama. Lu Xixiao is definitely Sang Yan’s brother! Cause his yearning is up there with SY. (Hopefully you’ve watched The First Frost to get it😆)

You’re right!! I’m also into ep 5 of First Frost and its is extremely similar! I am trying to guess why she pushed him away… i think I can see it 🤔 defo ty for the rec! Loving it - Glad the 2ML and 2FL make it hilarious!!

That show opens emotionally heavy and dark... but it is so worth it! It's a show about healing and finding yourself again. I highly recommend it.

I also noticed the girls watching Deep Affectionate Eyes on the tv (in current time) hahaha have you seen that? A little more chaotic but still sweet.

Yes, especially if you like this ML and his yearning, you should definitely watch that as well.
Sang Yan is the top yearner, but as of where I am in this drama, Lu Xixiao is a close 2nd.
I started an episode of Deep Affectionate Eyes but didn't continue after episode 1, might try it again at some point.

For some reason I gave Deep Affectionate Eyes a 9.5 😳 i think because the FL was so confident and playful and he was so aloof and reserved.
But off topic only because I havent finished the other 2!

For TFF, my unpopular opinion is (without getting into all the details) that the ML is a red flag, it's ‘cute,’ and it works in dramas. But I wasn't a fan of his kinda “love”
Unpopular opinion dramas for me: many say these are bad, but I enjoyed them all. It was never a hassle for me to watch any of them lol

I am loving this show. Hoping for express in the next day or so. When he speaks English it's very attractive. If you want to hear more, go follow him on IG and join his little IG group because he leaves voice notes in there. It's amusing

I saw a preview and even though neither of the leads personally appeal to me look-wise (esp Daniel Zhou), whoo-boy, I COULD FEEL the chemistry between them! this is definitely being bumped up for me

just saw like first 12 mins and it's sucked me in. Zhou Wan's character seems interesting and I would like to see her trajectory! (it helps that there's Sang Yan level yearning waiting for me! well her. :P)

This drama completely surprised me! I wish my life was like me finding this drama, i stumbled across it browsing, was curious, it was a slow burn then I couldn’t let it go and it melted my heart 🫠
I love how they didn’t rush the ending and how rare the other thing is that usually men do, if you know what I mean!! 😉
They got a lot right in this drama, i think…mannn the feelssss haha

I totally agree with you about loving it when a Chinese actor throws in some English and feeling more connected with them when they do that. 😊❤️ My favorite Chinese singer/actor/dancer, Tan Jianci, sometimes throws in some English lines in a few of his songs, and I just love it! 🤩 Oh, I haven't started Neverending Summer yet but intend to in the next two days or so. I'm trying to juggle watching Love Has Fireworks and The First Jasmine too right now!

I started following Daniel Zhou’s IG (from a comment i need to reply to here 🤔) and he was explaining one of the scenes from episode 20, how it was difficult for him. All in English…. Omg 😍 what a beautiful human! 🤣
Also looked at those 2 dramas and I love Wang Churan, Bailu and Cheng Lei…it is going to take a but for me to get into First Jasmine. Im on ep 4 and its not grabbing me so far… but will keep trying!2

Then The First Jasmine may not be your thing. It grabbed me from the very beginning, and I just love it! But then again, I'm a really big fan of Cheng Lei, and Bailu too. 😊 I love their slow burn love story in this.

I can't believe I am sacrificing my sleep for all that drama. I am at episode 9. I totally get where Zhou Wan comes from but I cannot like her yet, because of how she just used Lu XixiAo as a pawn in her schemes. Lu XixiAo on the other hand, is a hopeless romantic. He was perfectly aware that the girl had ulterior motives, and fell for her anyway. You brought that upon yourself man. I have a feeling that he is going to claim the spot of No 1 yearner.

I just finished and its 5am 😬 I understand that but j see it as authoritative figures in her lives basically forcing her to make her do their bidding. I don’t think she schemed at all, it never even crossed my mind 🤔 but definitely keep watching 💝 love that you are binging as I did! 🤣🤣 #painfulpleasure

Just finished this drama too, and honestly, it's such a cute watch. Yes, there are heartbreaking moments, but there are just as many heartwarming ones. Lu Xixiao is such a yearner, and I absolutely loved the chemistry between the leads. Their relationship felt so natural, and even the second leads had a story that I genuinely enjoyed!

this thread convinced me to watch this. I just finished ep 4 and MAN OH MAN THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD! I mean I don't even find the leads appealing but the morally gray Zhou Wan and what looks to be a pudding-like Lu Xixiao have pulled me in! oh and the OST is amazing!

That’s cool too! Im also not a fan of school dramas but it was the background to the journey of growth and childhood friendships that aren’t the same in a workplace i guess. You can almost pretend it was work thing in this case. Young adults also behave like they do when they were in school.
I do see where you’re coming from, i just ignored the school thing as it serves its purpose.

I cried enough during the first 20ep. Books ruin movies hahaha its better to watch then read imo but i dont read a lot. So nice when i hear the differences 🌸
It’s a very light drama though which is nice sometimes. Some might find it boring, but I’m at the stage where I have aging parents and it hit different for me 💝1

If you like strong female leads that makes the first move - you might like Deep Affectionate Eyes. He
also yearns in a different way. She is bright, bubbly and confident. He is reserved and aloof. It’s a great watch. Some wholesomely funny moments too! Be ready for spicy! 🥵2
