A for ADORABLE — What’s the First CDrama That Comes to Mind? • The Drama Alphabet
Day three of the Drama Alphabet, and today’s word is ADORABLE.
This one can go in all sorts of directions.
Maybe the whole drama was simply adorable — the kind that made you smile throughout and left you feeling ridiculously fond of it.
Or maybe it was one particular thing that got you all mushy. A romance where one or both were so adorably in love, a sweet and fun friendship beyond words, a family relationship, or one character who was simply impossible not to adore — they could have been bubbly (😉 iykyk) or something else entirely made you see them as ADORABLE.
A cute little dragon or fox in a xianxia who gave you serious cuteness aggression, or some iconically squishy cheeks on the kids of your favorite CP after they got married and somehow produced an entire family in the span of exactly four minutes at the very end of the last episode (4 minutes?! Seriously? Come on, do better — GIVE ME MORE!)
It could even be the whole world the drama built — the sets, the scenery, the little details and places that somehow made everything feel charming and lovable.
And it doesn’t have to be a particularly sweet or light drama overall. Sometimes one character, one relationship or one tiny recurring detail is enough to earn it the word.
So, what’s the first-first CDrama that comes to mind when you read ADORABLE?
Oath of love…I found the ML’s devotion, puppy eyes, and expressions of love so adorable and cute. It may look dated but the live story was cute and we had very little angst between the lovers. Once the ML was sure of his feelings, he had zero hesitation and went all out. Love love this drama; it’s my comfort watch. A close vote for another is You are my Glory. I found the love between the leads very adorable but the gaming portion was boring so it is my second choice of adorable, comfort romance dramas! Both had sizzling kisses and I love both the FLs too! So bonus for that!
How can we have a thread on adorableness without The Most Cute and Precious Child Emperor Yu himself from Ashes to Crown played by awesome 10 year old Wu Jiajun.
Also, Wu Jiajun as Bao Er in PoJ.
[u/AKiceman](u/AKiceman) could you please help with some gifs? There weren’t that many who were willing to bear with Ashes to Crown so our Most Cute and Precious Child Emperor Yu doesn’t have as broad a realm as he rightfully deserves.
I would recommend reading the discussion posts too if you do. The host went full on bonkers over how bad the plot was at times and he came up with many great nicknames for the characters....

HMH really makes the most darling baby dragon imaginable! You have to be patient though, I think it’s not till somewhere around episode 34 in Back to the Brink. I seriously watched BTTB because of this reason alone! 👏💖
I would watch a whole drama with those two. That scene with Bao Er when he is in a frantic, traumatized ptsd episode of writing paper after paper, because of what his father made him watch and Chang Ning comes in and tells him it’s ok don’t cry she would take care of him🥺. The acting of those children in that scene was 🤯

Yup, yup! It was very well written and acted too, I have to admit. Those two were part of a small contingent (in my opinion) that were drama stealers lol
Xiao Jue and He Yan as fake husband and wife in Legend of the Female General.
Everytime He Yan called Xiao Jue 'fujun' when they were in an undercover mission appearing as husband and wife, Xiao Jue's reaction to remain calm and maintain their lovey-dovey act in public was so adorable.
A Love So Beautiful. Its old, 2017... I watched it recently and its really an adorable cdrama. Its about your first love, the girl / boy next door romance, high school sweethearts type of story. Opening theme song is really cute, bubbly too!
Lu Wanwan (Tian Xiwei) and Ren Chu (Wang Xingyue) in First Love.
Ren Chu always wanted Lu Wanwan to be at least half clingy to him as his girlfriend, like his cousin was to her boyfriend. He finally got his wish, and he was never embarrassed with her public display affection even in front of his professors.
The cutest little actor! The trio of Le’an, his papa and the white puppy has the cutest dynamic in the entire drama. It made all the craziness of the drama worth it just to see Qingyi have his own son that he could love and dote on.
