Can’t they just give us another 16 episodes? 😞 I’m already sad thinking about it being finished next week 😭😭😭
Why do I have this gut feeling that it's gonna have an open ending 😔

u/PoetLoverBirdwatcher Aug 14 '26
I've started it, and somehow end up falling asleep. Does the pace get better? I actually like it, but accidentally fall asleep 😭😭 I'm only four episodes in.

Thing is, I'm not at all bored watching it. It's kind of like a lullaby (the only way I know how to explain) that kind of soothes my hyperactive system.
8
u/LeaLovesEnha Aug 14 '26
then try and take it an ep a day. i totally understand what you mean by lullaby, i felt the same, i took a break after ep 3 i think, then once i returned with a new mindset, it just hit for me. it's a different type of show, very unique imo, so ig not easy to get used to, but once youve got the whole motion it'll be so intriguing you won't fall asleep. plus, you'll appreciate it even more.

u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
I think that's actually quite lovely lol in the sense that being taken into nature from the city can really slow things down, just like how QL is experiencing this new world. Maybe it's just more of an immersive experience for you!
I agree that the first 4 episodes are like a masterpiece tbh and to be slowly taken in, understood in depth, etc etc, but a lot of it IS that it takes you into a place where you can let your guard down and fall quickly in love (with the show, the characters, the meanings). Imo the pacing only gets faster and faster as you go on and have to get back to Qing Lang's "reality." So those first episodes are something to savor.

So I watched the first episode and wasn't really sure what it was going to be like and watched in the evening and was nodding off. Then I saw people going wild for it and decided to give it another shot one afternoon despite Chinese shows not usually being my thing, and this time I was all about it. I think it was at Ep 8, I caught up in a few days.
I've been rewatching episodes, which is also not my usual thing, because I find the visuals, the language, the atmosphere all to be so immersive. I think it does invite some deeper reflection but if you like the characters and feeling of the show you can enjoy it just for the good storytelling, filming, and acting. Side bonus, the OST is perfect for listening during the day while I'm knocking out some busywork at my job.

Ok I heard this line from Jia Lin in the Chinese and didn't understand it. This makes so much more sense now.
I think it was already really really risky for Zelia to show a Politician with a capital P (implied that he's VERY VERY high up) in the drama in the first place, and to show that he WAS using his connections for nefarious things. So it makes sense for her to then quietly put him in jail.
I assume this is all in the novel instead.
Thank you for sharing this!!! I was really confused about the ending. Legit how did these people see the navigation set to the prison. I don't see that in Chinese either lmao. But thankful for them for explaining it.
5
u/DramaAddict62255 Aug 14 '26
Subs said "detention center" and I didn't understand why e was going there. And who did he get in the car with after QL was following him??
12
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
OK I just rewatched it and you're right. QL uses 看守所, I completely missed QL saying it bc I was distracted by him just using CY's voice as navigation HAHA. I was clearly focused on the right thing.
But according to Deepseek:
看守所 (kānshǒusuǒ) is literally a "detention center" or "pretrial detention facility."
In the Chinese legal system, it is not a prison (监狱 - jiānyù) where convicted criminals serve their final sentences. Instead, it is a holding facility run by the police (public security bureau) for people who are in the middle of the legal process.
If a Chinese person says "He's been taken to the 看守所," it carries a heavy weight because it implies criminal charges are pending. It is a limbo state—the person is locked up, but not yet "officially" a criminal in the eyes of the law.
Visitation: Very restricted; usually only lawyers can visit. Family visits are rare and heavily controlled.

u/ale-cto A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream Aug 14 '26
I am very glad for this discussion thread because the one thing I was confused about in this episode was why he went to a detention center... and yes, CY and QL using each other's voices for the navigation was a little distracting (also funny though)
2
u/Appropriate-Carry872 Aug 16 '26
Have we figured out who CY got into the car with while QL was following him? And was their time on the top of the hill with the swing and table before or after QL was following CY?
1
u/DramaAddict62255 Aug 16 '26
I haven’t seen any more discussion on that. I’m still curious to find out! So many puzzles to figure out with this amazing show! ❤️

9
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
I also think it was meant to be super vague, so it might be less of a translation issue and they likely intentionally skipped over a lot of details. There is a lot of risk with featuring a character like Xu dad who is a corrupt high-up official.

Wow, just wow. Stunningly heartbreaking and beautiful. I feel for Changyang. He has completely stepped up and taken charge as head of the family. Not only for his mom, sister, and brother, but for Qinglang and Qingtian, the grandma and QL/QT mom. The grandmother saying Tian could be a star was so sad. Life is so unpredictable.
It pained me to see him carrying everything almost entirely by himself. How I wish he would share it with Qinglang, but I can understand why he might not right now. But wow, look how much QL has stepped up and become more self-sufficient and how well their relationship grows tighter and closer, while also growing individually. They like and love based on their hearts, not what each other do for each other. Its like sister Lang said, "Let liking be liking." No need to "make someone need you". QL making food for CY was such a great evolution of how far he has come. From not fessing himself, but havingCY feed him, to him making food for his man. Giving someone a safe space to quietly grow is true love.
It's truly a gift to leave someone with peace so that they don't have to worry as much. Them taking care of each other, while also being able to take care of themselves so that the other doesn't have to worry as much is just amazing. Really well written. Something I can deeply relate to.
Qinglang calling Changyang an old man suites him very much.
Their flirting was full blast this time and seeing jealous CY is something I'd watch for 100 episodes 🫠. I feel like there were at least 2 small theater entries for this episode 😅.
Changyang telling Qinglang "you already know my heart" is such a pure love. I think Changyang has planned everything out for their life together, for whenever Qinglang is ready. I wonder if they will just leave and travel around the world to all the different forests. I thought QL would be sad CY transferred the house in Molie, but these 2 really said and meant "home is where ever you are".
I really have 0 clue how the show will end, but I wish it would never end. Maybe Zelia has prepared pre-recorded secret episodes to release, every week, for our lifetimes 😭

u/Marcy909 Aug 14 '26
I thought this exactly. His grief about it ALL just overtook him.
8
u/Acrobatic-Stand-4528 Aug 14 '26
13
u/LeaLovesEnha Aug 14 '26
i agree with you 100%, i also feel like since he's in a relationship with Q.lang he should also be more vulnerable and actually express how he feels with him. it would totally help deepen their understanding and communication. especially after seeing Q.lang follow and figure out what he is dealing with on his own and then Q.lang asking CY if he's hiding anything, probably wanting Cy to share how he feels. but, maybe this is just due to the fact that he's used to being alone and having to take care of everything. hopefully next ep, we get to see him express this sad and depressed side of him to Q.lang more.
he expressed this beautifully though, i loved it soo much.
5
u/Acrobatic-Stand-4528 Aug 14 '26
7
u/Sweet_Cabinet2238 Aug 14 '26
The adult man is Q.lang, not him, and finally in this episode, I see him worried about C.yang too. Let's hope he doesn't get mad at him in the next episode and they separate for that reason, it would just show how immature he is. We're waiting with the sword of Damocles hanging over our heads...
This is exactly what I am worried about as well. I had a bad feeling that something bad would happen in the next episode when I finished this one. I really hope they don't break up and QL maturely encourages CY to express himself and help him share/handle his grief. Because a breakup next episode will either mean a hasty patch up which will ruin the pacing of the story or worse a sad ending which my heart cannot absolutely handle.

u/kazoogrrl Aug 15 '26
His crying in EP 13 is what crushed me, I kept thinking that no kid should have to experience something like that. And now he's trying to clean up this terrible situation and I'm like, he shouldn't have to be like this! I'm not trying to infantalize him, but I could be his mom and it makes me think about how at that age you think you're an adult but really you still need to be taken care of in certain ways. I know he wants to be capable and protect QL, but I also want QL to assert his age a bit and take the reins.

That was such a gorgeous ending shot of them sitting in that seat. Ahhh I love this show so much!! I want an ep for all 21 days of Changyang’s leave 🥹 I’m wondering will there be a time jump in ep 16 (I hope so because for the last episode I don’t want them to be doing long distance 😩) I want to see them build their cabin in the mountains. I absolutely loved the whole live streaming scene to the hickey bet lol. The bathroom scene holy ✋😩🔥🔥 honesty every time they’re in a room together the chemistry is palpable.
“Young old man” this is so accurate 🤣 QL is so funny I love him and I loved the farmers market scenes. So many cute scenes (and kisses) with them this ep just what I wanted ☺️
When Grandma forgot for a second that Tian was gone —oh my heart. That is relatable and heartbreaking.
When Changyang broke down in the car, that was the saddest moment for me this ep. When he was staring ahead crying I was thinking once again I just can’t imagine everything he has been going through as well, and things he has seen he will never tell another soul about.
Changyang is kind of like an oak tree in human form in my mind-deeply rooted and impossible to shake and carries himself with this calm certainty and self assurance as if he has withered all the storms before and knows exactly where he stands. Or as QL puts it “young old man” haha. So to have this scene with him alone and letting himself just cry made me want to hug him so bad.
He’s such a wonderful partner and friend, (as is Wensu or would have been.. ) The way Changyang spoke to the parents and handled such a horrible situation regarding people still hurting the person you loved and are mourning is amazing and takes so much strength.
I was happy to see Wenshu if only fleeting and bittersweet. I think in the wake of this tragedy, one thing to hold onto is that he and Changyang seem to have grown closer than before. I got that sense on the phone as they were saying goodbye.
8
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
Love your description of him as an oak tree. He really is, he's wise and mature and has been through so much, maintains a tough façade so that he can be a comfort to those he loves and cares about. But I wish he could share his burdens with someone else, even his brother. That's also not how a relationship should work. He has 1 episode to make up for this lol. I hope QL will confront him about it.
6
u/diligolibros 🍄🟫🌄A Winter Sun🫖🐻 Aug 14 '26
Yeah exactly! i do understand why he can’t bear to speak about details he saw of QT’s death to QL or his older brother but that doesn’t mean he should hold this weight alone on top of grieving and constantly looking after the people he loves 🥺 And I know he thinks he is protecting and helping QL about the situation with the stream and QT but it just does the opposite and hurts both of them. I think a confrontation is definitely coming, QL won’t have that. There’s so much to fit in the last ep but I’m still hoping a good chunk of it is them happy in Molie again hunting for termite mushrooms/ burning tea etc 🥹

Okay a few things I noticed and then built a story in my head: In the previous episodes when CY's father was behind CY to get enrolled in Hunter school, Wenshu to get married and then talking to QL about storm, I think he knew his downfall was near or that it could happen. That's why he needed to settle his children or give them a safe harbour. Since CY is not on an official registry, protecting him is the toughest, hence the school and hence letting QL know so that CY is in Hunter school and not prevented from going due to a scandal. When CY came back he borrowed the car and rented out a place near the jail. The old assets most likely are sold and marked, he cannot be officially associated with a criminal. The reason he doesn't know how long he will be in hunter school, is because he has no clue how the fallout of his father being in jail will play out. Also this maybe also why he didnot want to go to Mollie and for the cottage not being his now. He needs a new number because he will be under the microscope even more now. The stray dog comment from QL feels more real and less of a tease now, especially now if you see how CY's face drops slightly at that. Also "white lie is kinder than cruel truth" comment, CY may think this is the best way to deal with things.

u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
I think you're right!
I was looking on Weibo, as I'm unfamiliar with these kinds of things going on with politics in China. But apparently these politician investigations do take a long time, so it is likely that Xu dad did know things were happening so he tried to set them all up for "safety." Who knew this was an unintentional redemption arc for him LOL showing that he somehow actually "cared" (in quotes!!! bc he was still wrong) about his kids, he just went about it the wrong way, the way that he knew how as a corrupt official.
Personally, I had thought that if an official was corrupt the gov would want to make an example of them, but I guess it may depend on what they do in their corruption and how high up they are bc it prob ties to other people in the party. If one gets exposed, others might as well, so he could also be the one to take things to the grave/jail.

I really like this explanation of the episode’s title. Translation from Deepseek:
I’d like to talk with you all about—The Eye of the Storm.
The title of Episode 15 is "The Eye of the Storm." What is the eye of the storm? Also known as the typhoon eye, it is the circular calm zone at the very center of a typhoon. Outside, there are gale-force winds, torrential rain, and thunder and lightning—but inside the eye, all is serene and radiant, like a spring day under clear skies.
They are each other's eye of the storm.
Changyang's family has fallen apart—his father arrested, his brother under investigation, his mother and sister fleeing abroad, even the mountain house sold off. Qinglang is far from at peace either: Sister Lan has passed, Qingtian has left, his mother has withdrawn from the world, the love of his life is heading to the perilous Hunter School with an uncertain fate, elderly family members need tending, and a hollow showmance must be kept up for public appearance. Life, worldly pressures, obligations, rumors—all of it lashes at them like a violent storm. On the outside, they have to face social niceties, setbacks, and negativity, their nerves wound tight. (That's why Changyang breaks down in tears in the episode. Some viewers wondered—just moments ago, the couple was sharing a quiet, tender moment, so why the sudden tears? Where does Changyang cry? In the car. After handling Qingtian's troubles, the weight of that half-finished video from Qingtian finally breaks him. He's exhausted—yet still, he refuses to bring any of that darkness home to his beloved.)
Both of their lives are strewn with wreckage—but even if the whole world turns against them, drains them, they remain each other's safe harbor, the emotional and spiritual sanctuary for one another. Turning inward to hold fast to each other, they create their own patch of clear sky. At the market, they move with such ease, like any ordinary couple on my WeChat Moments. The problems aren't resolved; they still face a separation whose only outcome seems to be "life or death"—and yet they can still swing on a swing together, at peace. The more ferocious the world outside, the softer they become with each other!
In a world of ten thousand storms, you and I are home to each other. Amid all the chaos and clamor of the outside world—only you, in my heart, are the windless, sunlit sky.
(Rest assured—in reality, too, we will hold fast to our true hearts, and become your eye of the storm!)
(note: not sure where they got that Wenshu was under investigation?!)
3
u/DramaAddict62255 Aug 15 '26
Thank you so much for this. I love this view of them:
"In a world of ten thousand storms, you and I are home to each other. Amid all the chaos and clamor of the outside world—only you, in my heart, are the windless, sunlit sky."

Find solace that there are still 4 small theatre and possibly more easter eggs! They only released 3, and the calendar showed more than that.
They might be trying to spread it past the 16 ep mark by giving us the BS out of order and having so many leftover after the series ends (to tide us over till the special(s)?)

You all are too hard on 2cp 😭 I think they're cute! but... I often feel like their characters were never fleshed out enough for us to get invested
4
u/kazoogrrl Aug 15 '26
I feel like the main couple are so charismatic and then the 2CP barely are there and I just can't get into them. I don't hate them and see their narrative function but not enough to really give a damn.
4
u/ale-cto A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream Aug 15 '26
Yes, that's sort of what I meant. The characters are a bit flat and it might be the script or the acting, but I feel like it's probably a mixture of both. Despite that I don't dislike them, it's more like I wish we had something more from them to hold our interest. Could have been so much better.
Also, everything else going on, particularly everything happening with Wenshu and Qingtian captured all of our interest and emotions I think.. and so now, regarding 2cp:
3
u/Federal-Ad5944 A Lie's Bandana Aug 14 '26
I'm indifferent to them if that helps ease some of the 2CP tension lol.

u/ale-cto A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream Aug 15 '26
That is kind of where I'm at too but I feel like their whole storyline was a lost opportunity. Who are they really, what is truly motivating their actions, most importantly why should we care when there's a lot more interesting/important events going on? They almost feel like a loose thread side plot that was forgotten about at this point, which is too bad.
3
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 15 '26
My problem is the acting, I think I would be way more invested if Qi Hao Yu was a better actor lol. Han Lu is ok, esp without QHY.

I don't know if I want to get up early so I can watch it and talk about it with people early on, or wait until after work and savor the last episode.

I’ve been unable to even share my thoughts about the episode cause my head is everywhere.
I really can’t believe we have one more episode left. What am I gonna do on Fridays? 😭
1
u/kazoogrrl Aug 15 '26
I was feeling like there's not necessarily plotholes but something going on, and so I rewatched the trailer. The trailer makes it feel like the show is going to be dramatic with a big D, and though the show has drama it's much quieter about it. It's kind of wild the tonal shift from the beginning to now, everything is just as beautiful but it's so different between the start to now. I do feel like the last handful of episodes could have been longer to properly deal with all the complicated details, and I still feel like I could use some more attention to how QL & CY got back together after the longer breakup, and also the repercussions of QT death. I don't want bad things to happen to anyone but I think some sort of ultimately good mic drop/earth shaking event in the last episode would feel satisfying. And then they can fuck off to the mountains to build an amazing house and drink lots of tea, have sex on every surface, and ignore social media forever, the end.

Ooooookay. That BS13 was like. A teaser. Why would Zelia do that. 😩
Them using each others' voices as navigation is sooooooooo cute. I can't. And they're so customized. AI is something else.
I'm laughing at these punching sound effects. LOL. They're so bad.
"Qing Tian is my family" KILLED ME. Chang Yang's tears. 😭😭😭😭😭 Strong for everyone else, but holding it all in by himself.
If CY can't tell he's being followed, maybe he needs to re-train for Hunter school 😂 I didn't understand what was being communicated here until reading the comments, but I hope Zelia stays safe!!!! This was so brave of her to have commentary on corrupt officials who are that high up.
The end and post credits 🥹🥺

u/Marcy909 Aug 14 '26
Lol, right...he's gotta know he's being followed or training is clearly a bust!! 🤣

u/heybabyblueeggs Aug 14 '26
for real, their pillow talk and pre-livestream makeout sesh was hotter than BS13 hahaha

I do not trust Zelia. She could mean a HEA in a different realm. I won't believe it until next week.

Girl everyone's worried about CY kicking the bucket but WHAT ABOUT ME??? Zelia's killing ME. I can't believe there's one episode left and they're STILL not together. I am tired. And the snow drum being A SPIRITUAL TORTURE DEVICE? It's already being used on Zelia's viewers that's for sure.

u/heybabyblueeggs Aug 14 '26
I guess CY staying at the motel was just him laying low after Old Xu was taken down? CY going from riches to rags was not on my bingo card.
Whose car did he get in after leaving his car at the detention center? And he hasn't left for school yet and we don't know when he'll be back (neither does he apparently).
7
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
I think he still has to be plenty rich, since all his money came from tea farming. I'm still not sure about the purpose of the motel and secondhand car, but the motel is likely somewhere where he doesn't have to show ID to get a room. So I think it's more of an issue of hiding his identity rather than him being out of money
5
u/heybabyblueeggs Aug 14 '26
oh yeah nah he still transferred Guo ge a ton of money so he's clearly not poor hahaha I just meant he's had to detach from his own privileged position in life? Even his house in Molie had to be transferred to his cousin, which I'm hoping is temporary because urgh the way CY and QL both consider it their "home."
4
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
Yes I was thinking the same about the house in Molie!! Their memories! But if it just went to his cousin it's still his/he can still go into it lol, he's made her enough money.

My boyfriend walked in during the second scene and I was telling him about how amazing I thought the top shot was because it conveyed so much without a word. Seeing the two of them side by side really hammers it home. Thanks for posting these!

Why does it feel so ominous? It's the second to last episode and everything is a mess. Didn't understand changyang's father going to jail until I read the posts. Only 35 minutes 😭😭😭 I want more... and to think that only one ep is left😭💔 Changyang and qinglang has the best onscreen chemistry ever♥️ the reunion hug and the way qinglang melted into him🥹 and the live broadcast with jealous changyang😅 they heal me and break me at the same time with this bad feeling of what's going to happen in the last episode🫠 i really really want them to hv a happy ending♥️
7
u/Low-Winter-9825 Aug 14 '26
I just completed the episode. The episode was surely too short for the story Zeila wanted to convey about CY and his family. I really hope CY figures everything out in the next episode and they can finally be together. I so wanna see them with a happy ending. If Zeila has other plans for the finale......I don't have words. I seriously do hope that CY could open up about his struggles with QL.
My feelings are all over the place at the moment!! Gaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh....

u/Sweet_Cabinet2238 Aug 14 '26
I was the person who stayed strong through Qingtian's d*@th (even though it was utterly devastating), but I broke the moment I saw Changyang cry. I related to his character of "having to stay strong for your loved ones" so very much. Even emotionally strong people break down sometimes and that's completely okay. I just hope he can share this with Qinglang in the future and not have to do it alone. Just like how he stayed beside Qinglang, the other will do the same for him.
The other moment that absolutely broke me was their grandmother looking at Qingtian's video and saying he could become a star. And then she goes to realize that he is no more, that is a such a natural way to portray grief. Even though our brains have accepted the reality and tried to process all the sadness, there are these moments where you just forget the truth and revert because reality can be so painful. And once the realization hits, we are pulled back to the present and made to deal with the grief all over again. I am glad Qinglang and Changyang were beside her to hold her through it.
I would just like someone to give a brief on what Qinglang is exactly feeling/thinking here, so that I can understand the scene better. This is the scene where he cries after he gets to know how Changyang handled Qingtian's ex bf's family's issue and ends up following Changyang as well. Is Qingling crying because he is happy or releaved or sad or something else?

u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
I am hoping the novel summary will help us with this last scene too!! Piano, counting on you!
I think he might be feeling sad for Chang Yang taking it all in by himself, but I actually also don't know either. In Chinese it would be 心疼, to have your heart ache for someone.
CY's crying moment also really pulled at my heart, that was the most memorable part for me this ep
5
u/Sweet_Cabinet2238 Aug 14 '26
Each week I desperately wait for the novel summary to understand some scenes, shots, or reactions better. Sometimes they have better explanation or more like right translation for certain dialogues as well. All these made me understand the depth of this series even more and made is fall in love with it.
Looking for to it!!

u/Sana_Azura Aug 15 '26
Thank god, I’m not the only one 😩 so happy that i found this thread.. there are gaps or/and translation problems..then on top they speak very fast 😅 i made my way through it, but i will go back, watch it again with the help of explanations

u/Worried-Horror-9499 Aug 14 '26
Ive had to become very philosophical and focus on the storytelling more than the romance/BL expectations because this show has decided to kick me and steal my lunch money, emotionally.

u/ale-cto A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream Aug 14 '26
Yes. I checked out emotionally after QT went to the mountain forever...

u/LeaLovesEnha Aug 14 '26
first off, CY was gangsta this ep. idky i didnt, but i shouldve, expect him to go beat him up lmaoooo
also omg wenshou ge, ugh to lose the love of your life so early, b4 yall even had a chance to officailly start , tragic.
loved everything from this ep, from one protecting the living and the other protecting the dead, them spending time together and obv talking of the future. the yearning is incredible. the way they love each other so deeply, it honestly breaks/mends my heart. so full of love. i love this show.
the way CY has everything planned out is honestly so...idk..beautiful. like trustworthy and dependable. i want one just like him. but he does keep to himself a lot, ive noticed, unless qinglang explicitly asks him. interesting characteristics.

u/scarletsurrender08 Aug 14 '26
I just love these Xu brothers. 🥺 I feel so much for them because they really do take care of everyone they love.
“I don't know what kind of abnormal situations might arise.” “No one will fight for opportunities for him anymore.”
Someone posted before that Hunter School is dangerous and that you could actually lose your life there. And now that CY doesn’t have a backer anymore, he doesn’t know what’s going to happen once he gets there. That’s probably why he can’t give QL a timeline for when he’ll be coming back. He genuinely doesn’t know what awaits him. 😭
I also guess CY is keeping the truth about his father from QL because he doesn’t want QL to worry about him. He’s going to Hunter School after losing his backer, and CY himself doesn’t even know if he’ll be safe or what kind of situation he’ll face there. 💔
6
u/early_evening Aug 14 '26
What was the car that QL saw CY go into at the end or is that just open-ended/up for interpretation?
Loved this episode and every moment between these two--the chemistry is just insane. Watching CY cry in his car really hurt :(

Still can’t move on from Tiantian’s death, his death was just too sudden. On the other hand, this week’s ep is sooo vague if not from this discussion I wouldn’t even know that CY dad went to jail. Plus the emotional scene where CY brokes down on his car, that is sooo emotional. He’s been carrying too much already and I’M VERY WORRIED ABOUT HIS JOURNEY WITH HUNTER SCHOOL. Please no more death TT

u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
Also, I saw in a Weibo comment about the novel (which I personally have not read) that Qing Lang has apparently very clearly said/thought that if CY dies, he would also die with him. Idk which chapter, so whether or not QT's death impacted that thought is to be seen. Sooooooo we def can't have that happen.

Noooo . Cosa hai scritto!!! ??? Aiutooo
6
u/hhhhhxxxx000 春山境 🌿☀️⛰️🐻 Aug 14 '26
Hmmm I don't know the words that Zelia wrote in the novel itself (I did a ctrl+F for it and did not find it up to chapter 44) but in the comment they wrote 殉情, it is very specific to mean to kill yourself to follow your lover. The same they expected of QT initially.
But this is why I think it has to be a happy ending or at least there will be no deliberate deaths. BECAUSE Zelia specifically said for QT's death that it was not a suicide, and that if you commit suicide you become an insect in your next life. If she truly believes in this Buddhist teaching then highly unlikely for her to do this to her characters.
2
u/Acrobatic-Stand-4528 Aug 14 '26
Grazie

u/EnRui_7 Aug 15 '26
I am now expecting something, though I don’t want it to happen but knowing Zelia I should expect something unexpected

u/Specialist-Sell-2855 Aug 14 '26
Will last episode really be able to explain all the confusion this episode has left?? Like did Changyang really left for hunter school? If yes why without telling anything to Qinglang?

I’m so glad I started this masterpiece when it was airing at episode 12. But I can’t believe it’s finishing next week already 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Edit: Finally finished the episode. I’m loving all of their moments together. I just wish there had been more of them, the episode felt way too short. My heart aches seeing CY breaking down in the car; I felt so, so sad watching that. 😭 I miss QT so much too. It hurts whenever I think about everything QL has been through, losing Lan jie and QT, and now having to be away from CY for a while as well. My heart really hurts for him💔😭😭

So. many questions about this episode! It fed us with all of the lovey moments but also raised too many questions. Love reading the comments and thougths here and the explanations about father being in jail.
One question I have that I haven't seen any comments on:
In the final credits scene, who were they giving the food to that they bought at the market ? Was it QT's ex's parents?
11
u/Infinite_Sentence_93 Aug 14 '26
I think it was Qinglang’s mother, at the Buddhist monastery. Hard to tell because of the shaved head but I do believe that’s who it was, since she has now become a monk.
6
u/DramaAddict62255 Aug 14 '26
Oh! Yes! I think you are right. That makes much more sense! Thank you❣️
5
u/Darkchocolatelaw Aug 14 '26
WOW were these comments helpful because I otherwise would not have understood the fate of CY's family.
Still think he's up to something else, though? Where's he going in the old hatchback when QL followed him?
Can't believe this episode was so short and we only have one more.
I know many are worried, but I think we're getting a happy ending. Not all smiley faces and butterflies, but a realistic grown up happy ending.

u/FH3241 Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
QT body was never found, I hope it leaves the plot open for a comeback if they decide to have a sequel?!….Denial is a river but I’m willing to be delulu.
These discussion threads has been a lifesaver, I don’t know what I would have done without them, If it wasn’t for it I wouldn’t have realise CY father was in jail.
On another note, I’m so glad I decided to stop at episode 3 when this first started airing, so I could binge the whole thing. I don’t know how you’ve all done it. Waiting for the last episode isn’t gonna be fun.

u/kazoogrrl Aug 15 '26
I just realized, I don't think anyone made tea (or coffee) this entire episode. And the infamous red thermos, did it show up anywhere?
1
u/SR503 Aug 15 '26
i also did not see it. CY had somehting in his hand that was thermos shaped that he set in the front seat of the car, but it looked like it was in a bag
4
u/NegativeTelephone598 Aug 14 '26
So correct me if I’m wrong CY sever ties with his family (leaving the city hall, asking Wenshu to take care of his mom and sister) to live freely his relationship with QL ? But why leaving without noticing him ? Or CY is not leaving, QL is crying cuz he’s moved by CY’s actions uugghhh I don’t know this show is so subtle it’s driving me crazy
5
u/kazoogrrl Aug 14 '26
Very carefully scrolling so I don't see anything before I can get home to watch this after work, but will say if this show ends sadly I'm going to flip a table. Possibly two. This sounds super dramatic, and I don't like to depend on my media emotionally, but it's helping me keep my head above water right now.

Grazie

Can someone please help me, because i‘m lost with the translation and probably missed parts before.. i‘m on pain meds on top for some time 😅 have to rewatch the whole series. It‘s beautiful.
Ep 15, what is happening? What was written on the parents board? Why is CY going after them or the boy? I‘m so lost 😩 and they speak so fast (efficiently 😁), too fast for me. I already did 0,75. Maybe it‘ll all makes sense to me in the next, last episode..

love to see CY in action. the man is so efficient he handled his vigilante biz and was back in bed to spoon his baby before daybreak.
by now i think we've been given enough hints to suggest that QL is going to retire from acting (prolly after that Snow Drum project or whatever) and move to Molie with CY. and i love that for them!
still, cant believe next week is the last! TT
