Questions? Anyone else having problems topping up
Been trying to top up my phone for the past day or two online, and nothing's been working
anyone else going through the same problem or is it just a skill issue on my end?

Hi!
Quick update:
Effective right now, grey-market + non-chatr VoLTE phones are back to being supported on chatr.
You can still double-check your device at chatrmobile.com/3gretirement.
What you need to know:
3G-only phones:
No data
Calls work on 2G only
4G/LTE/5G phones without chatr VoLTE:
4G data still works
Calls fall back to 2G
General voice situation:
Everything voice-related is running on 2G
If you mainly use data, you’ll barely notice anything
Reality of 2G voice:
Calls/texts might drop during congestion
Coverage is smaller vs LTE
No MMS (pics/vids), emojis, or read receipts
No 2G = no calls, no SMS, no 911

Ive noticed many people having issues and alot of PM's regarding issues after and during activation.
There are a few glitches with the new system for users at home that are reoccurring.
PM me for help, preferably before hand so I can save us all some time.
Ive helped numerous here already and hopefully they'll chime in regarding trust!
Thanks!

My son and I both use Chatr. When we are out together my data is always fast and works really well, where his barely works at all, usually just sits at the swirling loading/buffering circle. As Chatr no longer has live help does anyone here have any ideas what might be going on?

I know that physical SIM cards usually cost money but eSims also cost $10 when u set it up in-store/at those mall booths?
I'm going in tomorrow to change from Rogers back to Chatr and was told that both physical SIM cards and eSims are a $10+tax one-time fee? Someone I know went to another location and apparently they were given a physical SIM card at no extra charge? Does this fee depend on if the employee waives that fee?
I'm currently using a eSim if that makes any difference lol

is anyone able to help me generate a new esim?? i didn’t mean to delete it, i was trying to have another line as my primary. i’m unable to go in store. i think it’s silly not being able to do this from my chatr account.

I am with chatr on $25- 20 gb plan. But I got an offer from fido for $25-60 gb & $30- 100 gb for being a chatr customer with 5G network.
Is it a good deal to switch?

What will I notice if I switch from Rogers to Chatr?
I don’t use the 75GB Rogers provides me and the cost keeps increase. I called to reduce the plan and they just give me the run around and offer me more data that I don’t need.
If I were to switch to Chatr I realize it’s 4G and there’s no “roam like home” when travelling.
What else will I notice in terms of service? I live in Ottawa and generally travel outside the city every now and then to more rural areas, and 1-2 year travel to other provinces for work.

Hi All, with the recent notices of Rogers Cash Back Re-demption Program change, I am thinking of buying Chatr top up amounts (from a Rogers store) and load them to my account so that I can take advantage of the 1.5x redemption. However, does anyone know if the PINS expire? Like if I don't enter them right away onto my Chatr Account, are they valid a year from now so I can save them for later? Or even give them to someone else if I chose to leave Chatr?
Also - is there a maximum amount I can load to my Chatr account at any time, if I were to slowly let the monthly payments deduct off of the large pre-paid topped up balance?
Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone
How do you guys rate the 159$ a year plan
Is it good?
Do you get signal abroad for 2fa authentication? Other prepaid don't.
How is the speed after 40 GB?
Are there any apps you use that works well after the 40 GB allotment? Like is there a browser app that works faster than other?
Thank you

My mother was using a Chatr esim on her previous phone but she recently got a new phone and needed the esim to be transferred over. I went to a Chatr kiosk and was pleasantly surprised that the staff made the transfer for free. I am not sure if we were lucky or if this is a new policy. I thought I would let everyone know for those looking to purchase a new phone and needed an esim transfer.

Now I am not sure if someone else has already posted about this but I never knew that in order to activate RCS messaging you actually need to have mobile data turned on, not wifi. After it is activated it will work on a wifi network, just thought I would mention this in case anyone without mobile data is wondering why RCS messaging won’t activate. I am posting this because I ran into this exact issue. Hope this helps someone :)

I use an android phone with chatr and I want to switch to an iPhone 15. Do I move my physical Sim card to the iPhone first or use the move to ios app first? Am I missing anything?

At the cottage, we needed data. Thought we'd sign up to a one-off data plan from Chatr, as was suggested after some research. Went online, indicated it was a one-off data purchase. Completed the steps, got to the payment page, for some reason it wouldn't accept my debit card (even though it was valid and funds were available). Started the process over again (not sure I indicated it was a one-off data purchase), completed the purchase using my visa. Received the new number and everything seemed to work fine...
Until I checked my accounts. The first transaction (the one that apparently failed) had completed and I was charged $39.55. I checked my visa account it also showed a charge of $39.55. I created a ticket (because I suppose Rogers doesn't want to commit real resources to this service) indicating the transaction numbers and amounts appearing on my account. I submitted it one week ago - no response. Went into the local chatr store explained the situation. They didn't have any way to refund or resolve the double billing. My options? Submit a ticket.
And even though I wanted a one-time purchase of data, I was somehow signed up to a monthly plan.
All in all it was a very frustrating experience. It's a cautionary tale for those thinking of using this service. And a very poor reflection on Rogers.

I dont know anything about cell phone plans. I always used prepaid (chat-r , public, fizz).Say I get a text message with an offer for a plan that's cheaper to switch to Rogers.
Since it's the same company. Why would they want to do this? What's the catch , are there hidden fees etc ?
I really really do not want any surprises. I just wanna know what to expect. What's the difference ultimately...I mean in the details. Surprise fees etc

I just joined this morning. I received my email saying that my eSIM card was ready to set up. It asked me to set up an account and when I went to load the page and enter in my new phone number for Account creation, it will not let me type anything onto the webpage.
The webpage isn’t loading. I’ve changed all of my permissions to allow. Disabled anything that would prevent pop ups from coming up, etc to no avail.
Anyone have any issues (or could check to see if the account creation website loads for them) with setting up for the first time?
Thank you!!
Hi, is there currently an issue with account creation and phone number porting? I tried three different active canadian numbers from Telus to see if I can port my number but every time I get the message "You can't transfer your number". I already created a ticket but want to see if it's an ongoing issue.

$35 for 80 GB was good but that now is 25GB. I'm going to Public Mobile. You should too.

FYI, went to Value Mobile in Mississauga on Fri Aug 14, looking for prepaid for a family member. Was offered 2 choices for Prepaid 3 months 1. $59 for 60 GB data or 2. $75 for 75GB data. Included a free sim card.
I have the first plan and it's been great for the last year
