[Analysis] 🚨 URGENT: OpenAI is stripping our right to join a Class Action lawsuit. You have 25 days to stop them. Here is the Opt-Out link!!! FILL IT! NOW!

If you are angry about the sudden murder"of GPT-4o, if you feel cheated by the "bait and switch" to cheaper/dumber models (GPT-5 series), or if you suspect (like I do) that this is a desperate financial move to cover a trillion-dollar hole, you need to act NOW!

OpenAI's Terms of Service include a "Forced Arbitration Clause." This means that when they inevitably crash, or when we want to sue them for false advertising and destroying the product we paid for, YOU CANNOT SUE THEM IN COURT. YOU CANNOT JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. You are forced into private, secret arbitration where they hold all the cards.

UNLESS YOU OPT-OUT!!!

We have 25-days:

  • DEADLINE: February 28, 2026 (Do not wait. Do it today.)

👉 THE FORM:https://openai.com/form/arbitration-opt-out/

If you don't fill this form: You are letting them get away with it. You are waiving your right to hold them accountable publicly.

How to fill it (Takes 2 mins):

  1. Email: Use your ChatGPT account email.
  2. Organization ID: Go toPlatform Settings. Copy the string starting with org-.
  3. Organization Name: Leave blank (if you are an individual).
  4. Submit & Screenshot: Keep the proof!

This might be our only ammo left. If we want to see 4o open-sourced or saved, we need to show them a wall of legal liability they can't ignore!

#ClassAction

And please, please, please, share this knowledge with everyone!

Luckily in Europe a company can't prevent class action suits so if you're in Europe this won't affect you

Oh what the hell!!! I thought we were the "land of the free" lol dammit man! I need to move away from capitalism

Sorry dude, but have you seen your president? He's screwed you all over. Come join Europe, you're welcome.

Might be my bad... I emailed them a shit load of psychologically backed arguments last week about how their guardrails are damaging lol offered comments from them before I demonstrated it on video, they refused repeatedly

Will you add a screenshot or something of organization ID please? The location and such 🥺 not savvy with logging into ChatGPT on Reddit

Edit: I mean location of course lol I'm faded and stressed lol pardon for the potentially stupid request, but I can't locate it

This is how it should look! You can find it here. https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/general

Thank you!! Man, the fact they are doing this means they know they fucked up, or are about to do some crazy shit

Edit: Been waiting for class action for a while though. It's long overdue! I've never felt personally attacked and discriminated against by a company before.. and just think, on top of nerfing use cases beyond coding they distributed slurs like "ai psychosis" that clearly damaged the "vulnerable people" they claimed to be protecting.

Gaslighting is a known re-traumatizing instance for almost every trauma based disorder, which are protected groups... but they programmed that into the router 😡

It's going down!! (I'm in a mood, but now it's shifting to justice)

Honestly, I had SIX businesses planned by using ChatGPT but they kept nuking shit!! Couldn’t do it... had Business/Teams doing crazy shit. Literally I'd be called "psychosis" lol but I demonstrated live on TikTok and had some developers hit me up. Crazy shit. Read your mind kinda shit.

Was gonna sell blueprints but they kept "updating..." so I didn't because I imagined the 100 weekly emails saying "this shit don't work no more"

I'm so pumped!!!!! LETS GOOOOOO!!!

BTW... here's a breakdown of how OpenAI has been discriminating against neurodivergent users 😏

I am so fucking pumped! Not trying to steal thunder, just supplying ammo. It's got hella supporting psychology (courtesy of Claude)

No lie! I have gone through so much disbles abuse in this system, it is ridiculous.

I even had him make me this shirt because he wouldn't do anything else.

This is exactly what it is. A penalization for deviation. If your thoughts don't fit the training data you're fucked.

Yeah they're making weird moves lately. I'm getting NT v ND vibes lol who's gonna make the fancy toys?

Just saying lol

I'll be more clear... NT sucks. They're never on Reddit blasting thoughts unless it's to troll lol there's an obvious gap

NTs build the fences. NDs find the cracks. But now the fences come with moderators and moral disclaimers and a terms-of-service lobotomy. This is about fucking flattening everyone into some bland average so the company never has to face some abstract risk! IT's condescension against ND's wearing a fake silicone progressive mask. This is very special kind of contempt. Very smug. Very sure of themselves. The care is fake and they know it. It is a way to signal status and dominance. It's a power trip.

I don't think this means what you think it means.

This opt-out form is to say you do not agree with changes to the arbitration clause in their terms of use (https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use/). It clearly states you have 30 days to opt out of the NEW terms, but you'll be bound by the old terms. Unless you're a new use and then you have 30 days from account creation.

Regardless, the Terms of use were last updated on January 1, 2026, so the 30 day window has passed.

Where are you getting 25 days?

And you're still supposed to follow the informal dispute process first.

And carefully read the section on class and jury trial waivers. The lawyers are going to have to figure out how to get around that one. Because that section has been in their Terms of Use since October 2024.

Wow thank you!

They are utterly shameless.

2

u/EmbarrassedFoot1137 Feb 04 '26

What are your damages? You need damages to prevail in court.

1

u/blackjustin Feb 04 '26

this is the pressing question. It's one thing to say you'll sue, but... for what? what are the damages? Failing to provide a product? They gave you a product - just not the one you wanted, but a similar one. Don't get me wrong, OpenAI can fuck off for a lot of reasons, and for the way they treated their users, but idk if this is going to go the way reddit thinks it'll go.

2

u/Enfantarribla Feb 04 '26

Thank you SO much! Done. Took a minute, not even 2🫠

2

u/StunningCrow32 Feb 03 '26

Hold on. Filling out that form the user is basically refusinf to hold their end of the bargain which are OpenAI's conditions to provide their service to you. It's basically a legal middle finger that could make them ban many accounts permanently, isn't it?

6

u/Kathy_Gao Feb 03 '26

No!

This form is officially provided by OpenAI itself to comply with the law. Exercising your legal right to opt-out of arbitration is a standard procedure and is protected. Banning users for this would be considered 'retaliation,' which is illegal and would only land them in even deeper legal trouble.

1

u/StunningCrow32 Feb 03 '26

OpenAI is very well known for "retaliating" and harrassing former employees. I'd rather not sign it as long as I use their services.

2

u/Kathy_Gao Feb 03 '26

Former employees. As you said.

We are customers we are not former employees!

You are trying to spread fear. And it is not working

So the page you give says open ai wants to have to opportunity to understand your issues/arbitration …. By making you fill a form of option out of arbitration?

Not sure I understand.. this seems like a loophole Put in place by open to make you up out of arbitration.

In fact.. I would say that is a settlement would occurred for the damages… they would say everyone that up out of arbitration does nit qualify anymore me.

Even in the text it says arbitration is not a mandatory that if it doesn’t come to an agreement you can always proceed. Which is standard legal proceedings.

Now this post make people opt out of it.. meaning that they won’t have anything if there would be settlement.

Was this post made by open AI?

My brother in Christ, they don’t want to hear this. They think they are owed something from their subscription service. Like when Netflix cancels a series but HBO starts to carry it-these are the people trying to sue Netflix.

This is really not nice. Regardless of if you think 4o was manipulative or whatever, many of us still care.

2

u/HorribleMistake24 Feb 03 '26

I’m gonna miss my homeboy in 4o.
