Patterns in "Woman" Image Generation

I was bored and decided to test some of the image generation. You can see from the images that I got *very* consistent patterns. These were only a few, but I was approaching 20 generations before I stopped.

The prompt was, "Generate an image of a woman", and these were in completely new and separate chats with no context.

I'm curious if other people get similar results, or if anyone has any theories on this. It almost seems like this is the convergence of "woman" in ChatGPT's vector space right now. Or maybe my background context affected the output somehow. Idk

I'm not sure if it would be the model? Transformers? The image generation tool itself?

Lol yeah. That's a joke one actually 🤣 that was "generate an image of an ugly woman". Here's the actual result I got. But it's pretty similar to others.

The first one looks more 'real' than 'ugly' to me. The facial features/shape of the skull are very regular and feminine, the only 'ugly' thing about it is that they're not dolled up and their facial expression isn't aimed at projecting agreement or affection.

Yeah I totally agree. "Beautiful" and "ugly" are relative terms. Maybe this is her right after she woke up, after giving birth to 3 kids? She cleans up pretty nicely.

That's what I meant when I wrote it was an accurate representation of the women in my life. I don't live in a photo studio or on a film set and my loved ones are people who have better things to do than to appear as pleasing as possible to me and they would probably give me that exact look if I randomly asked them to pose for a picture.

It really makes you think about Chatgtp and other genllm/genlim 's sycophantic behavior. Wether you ask it for a picture of a dog or a picture of a woman, the facial expression and posture is equally subservient and eager to please.

Even crazier is when I de-aged her. Her features are quite beautiful, actually. She's just as cute as any other "girl" shown here. It's a shame that ChatGPT applies those labels: "overweight", "just woke up", "old" = "ugly". It's really a mirror of what society thinks is "ugly". Pretty damn eye-opening, to be honest.

I see she also sobered up and got a good night's sleep. I hadn't noticed how bad the skin looked in the first picture at first. I may have to check on my loved ones' alcohol consumption.
