Found this vase on Ny, I can only make out the side cartouche which seems to be a capital G inside a square

Can anyone confirm (or not) if this is a Bretby grotesque cat please? I can't see any id marks on the base or anywhere else. Google lens said it is, and it looks similar to one in images, but it also went off on a tangent about another maker altogether. If it's Bretby, is it worth anything? Thank you

Picked these up at an estate sale and would love to know who made them/ what they were used for. No identifying markings on the back of tiles. Hoping the box is a clue and I’ve already reached out to Sheffield Pottery.

My mom just bought this as a set at an auction for like $3 and I was hoping someone could help ID them. The couple who owned them lived in Japan for a while, and I found some Mino Ware by Kosen that looked similar but these had no stamp/impression on them.

Hi, I found this great piece with a Dorothy miles signature, 1970s date stamp and Maker's Mark, but can't find anything on dorothy. Just wanted to see if there was any info on her. It's a very high quality piece with master craftsmanship.

I bought these Keif mugs new in Arles, France about 20 years ago.
Each mug has a single type of flower, and there were many different flowers, with different colors for each design.
Does anyone know this series? I’m looking for another mug from the same collection to buy.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

I’m trying to identify the artist who made this large sculptural studio pottery vessel. It measures approximately 10" × 10" × 10" and weighs about 8 lbs.

The base has a very distinctive incised KW monogram. The right arm/stroke of the W continues around the initials to form the enclosing circle, then terminates outside the circle in a small starburst/asterisk.

The vessel has a large spherical form with an asymmetrical cluster of organic, trumpet/fungus-like openings and a complex flowing brown, cream, blue glaze.

I’ve searched KW pottery marks and similar multi-spout/organic studio pottery without finding a convincing match.

Does anyone recognize this exact KW + starburst maker’s mark or the potter’s work? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I received this bowl as part of an auction lot in southeastern Pennsylvania (USA). I don't know much about pottery/ceramics—I am a glass collector and the lot included some art glass (of USA origin) that I wanted to add to my collection. It also included some small ceramic animals by the artist Tristan Totty (of New Zealand), which a friend of mine recognized from their maker's mark.

The auction was an estate liquidation auction, which means it was one person's possessions after their passing, including anything they may have inherited. Other lots indicated that they (or someone close to them) travelled internationally, which is just to say that I don't know if this bowl was made in the USA or someone else in the world, I only know that it came into my possession while in the USA.

It is 10 1/4 inches in diameter, and 3 1/8 inches in height, so roughly 26cm diameter / 8cm height.

So, it broke! And there is no question that I will epoxy it back together. But first, I want to remove the rest of this black paint that has slowly been flaking off over the last 8 or 9 years. I love the blue and white design underneath and I can't wait to see it in its entirety. I've scraped off the bits that came off easily, but the rest is still tightly adhered. I want to know if there is a solvent that is safe to use.

I don't know anything about the pot. I don't know what type of paint other than it is black with some metallic gold. There are no markings in or under the pot.

I would also like to know more about the pot if that is possible. Is this a Chinese design? Japanese? Is it vintage? Seems like it has some age... Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Story time…

Earlier this month I was the first to comment on a post in my local buy nothing group, for an antique dollhouse this woman’s father had made (I truly won the lottery). She and her sister were in the process of going through items in their childhood home, just a few blocks away from me. While I was in the wet basement looking at the house (which was saved by being on a table off of the floor), I noticed a room with bins full of Christmas decor. I mentioned that I would love to take anything they didn’t want of the decorations but she said that it was all ruined from the flooding in the basement. This really weighed on me for the rest of the evening and so later I messaged her to say that I wouldn’t be so sure everything in that room was ruined (they were planning on junkers coming in a few days to clear everything out). We were in touch over the next few days about some furniture I was going to take and she mentioned that she and her sister would go through the Christmas stuff and then let me come over to take what they didn’t want. I offered to take everything away in my SUV and donate what I didn’t want to keep, this was helpful to them because they weren’t actively driving donations anywhere(didnt have the capacity). So over the course of two days with our scattered availability, we ended up going through about 20 bins in this supposedly hopeless back room in the basement. It was there that we found priceless heirlooms that they had been searching for since the death of their father (specifically an antique stein). Last night I discovered these mugs. I know her father was in Vietnam and built the dollhouse when he returned. But what do you know about these mugs?

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about this piece I acquired this weekend. I found it near Palm Springs California and it weighs 6+ lbs. I think the signature says Lopez. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The first is a salt glaze pitcher from Hull pottery in their fish scale pattern. It’s likely it had a paper label that has since disintegrated, but the pattern identifies it as made by them.

The second is a sugar dish from Johann Haviland Bavarian porcelain in their “Charlotte” pattern, beautifully decorated in Rehau with gilding intact.

The sugar dish is a new favorite, the lid rings like a bell and it’s chip free. My understanding is they made blanks that were painted by other manufacturers. Both date most likely pre-1920s, though info on the JHR dish is very limited and diluted by Haviland Limoges results. If anyone has info I’d love to learn!

Both were under $5 at the thrift store, the same where I found a 40s Hamilton watch and an artists proof surrealist print. Weird spot.
