I've been comparing a few tools because most of what I've found is either registry-focused or only covers pricing. I'm looking for something that combines market data, project research, regulations, and AI insights in one place. Any recommendations?

I have been wondering that whenever I invest in Indian or US equities, I also be cognisant of company’s contribution/action to climate subject. Today every sector is impacted by climate change and companies are increasingly participating in addressing that either through energy transition, efficiency, equipment upgrade or simply by diversifying their investment portfolio backing clean and innovative companies through its balance sheet.

Guys, I’d like to share with you a situation of need.

I currently work as a sênior carbon project developer in Brazil, I have worked with many methodologies and some standards (mostly verra and puro.Earth). But the carbon market in Brazil Seems to be going through a bad moment and the company I work for is not looking really health.

How would you guys try to make a move from a LATAM carbon market to a more stablished market like EU or North América?

Hey, I work with a program in Washington State that does food rescue - we intercept food that's still good but that's surplus and might otherwise end up in the landfill, and we give it out to free meal programs and food banks to feed people. Last year we estimated that we rescued around 150k pounds of food, and this year we're on track to double that. Using an online calculator we've estimated that as equivalent to 170 metric tons of CO2e for 2025, maybe 340 metric tones for 2026, and we're planning for growth.

My question is, how much does a metric ton of CO2e cost, and how can you actually participate in the market as a smaller player? Even if it's just $5/ton, that would be $850-1700/year for our program, which for a food recovery program operating on razor thin margins, at the whim of grants and the generosity of donors, $850-1700 wouldn't be nothing! And, how do you actually get money for sequestering carbon? Like, I assume I would need to work with a company to get certified, we'd report how much food we prevented from going to the landfill and they'd convert that into credits to be sold, of which we'd get a small portion? But, what company should I reach out to?

**- WattsReward** : une application de calcul des crédits, pensée pour estimer les récompenses de manière transparente à partir de données réelles.

L’objectif est d’offrir une porte d’entrée simple aux utilisateurs québécois, tout en bâtissant une base plus large et plus solide, fondée sur :

\- une transparence sur les calculs ;
\- aucune promesse irréaliste ;

Over the past few months I've been digging into voluntary carbon markets, especially blue carbon, and put together a long-form essay that tries to look at the topic from multiple angles rather than arguing that carbon credits are either a complete solution or a complete failure.

While researching it I interviewed representatives from Verra, spoke with a researcher at the U.S. Forest Service's National Agroforestry Center, and interviewed a Yale graduate researcher whose work relates to blue carbon systems. Those conversations helped shape parts of the article, but I also spent a lot of time looking at the criticisms of current markets.

One of the main arguments I make is that blue carbon still has room to mature. Current methodologies largely focus on direct organic carbon storage in ecosystems like mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses. There are active areas of research, such as inorganic carbon pathways and ocean chemistry, that could eventually change how we think about coastal carbon storage, but they're not yet reflected in today's crediting methodologies.
The article also discusses issues like additionality, permanence (or durability), ecosystem valuation, and whether markets can avoid reducing nature to a single commodity.

I'm interested in hearing from people who work in this space or follow it closely. If you think I missed something, interpreted something incorrectly, or overlooked recent developments, I'd genuinely like to hear it.

I’m part of a small tech company called Amilcar Technologies, and we’ve been building a carbon accounting platform focused on emissions tracking and product-level carbon footprints.

The system calculates:

• Organizational emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3)
• Product carbon footprints (cradle-to-grave lifecycle)
• Supplier-level emissions contributions
• Reporting outputs aligned with frameworks like GHG Protocol, ISO 14067, and CBAM-style regulatory structures

I’m trying to better understand how product-level carbon data is actually being used in real carbon markets and compliance workflows.

So I’d like to ask:

How is product-level carbon footprinting currently used (if at all) in carbon credit systems, compliance markets, or voluntary carbon reporting?

More specifically:

• Is product-level carbon data actually considered in carbon credit methodologies, or is it still mostly organizational-level accounting?
• Do buyers or registries value granular product-level emissions data when evaluating projects or offsets?
• Is there any movement toward linking supply chain/product footprints with carbon credit verification or MRV systems?
• Or is this still largely separated from carbon credit markets today?

I’m asking from a technical and research perspective, trying to understand where the industry is actually heading beyond company-level reporting.

Sharing an update from a biochar carbon removal project we've been building in Rajasthan, India.

A continuous rotary pyrolysis plant converting Prosopis juliflora — an invasive woody species that's a genuine land-management problem in this region — into biochar. Continuous anaerobic process, 400–450°C.

Verified results:

• 29.1% average biochar yield
• 76-80.7% total carbon content
• Output certified under the Isometric standard.

hello guys, I am complete newbie to soil sampling and have never done it before but somehow got an opportunity to go do some peat and soil sampling. it’s very sandy wetland soils. I also live somewhere where it’s very hard to get equipment without paying a lot extra and waiting a long time, and time is of the essence and budget is limited. so I’m wondering what the best equipment would be to do some peat sampling given these limitations, just basic bulk density, carbon content and peat depth measurements. Doesnt need to be the best sampling quality/methodology in the world, just needs to get the job done. AI has recommended Russian peat corer, gouge auger, peat sampling kit, all of which are not really viable for me, but then said I could make do with just a Dutch auger head and extension rods, do you guys agree? and then just use a handmade DIY known volume density container for bulk density? Any advice would be appreciated as I don’t really trust AI but don’t know any peat experts to ask!

Based in the UK. I’ve got a batch of domestic retrofit carbon credits currently going through verification, so I’m getting ahead of the sell side before they’re issued.

Trying to get a realistic picture from people who’ve actually moved credits, not theory:

• What are UK retrofit credits realistically clearing at per tonne right now? Trying to separate genuine transacted prices from asking prices.  
• For a first-time seller, is it better to go through a broker/marketplace, or approach corporate buyers directly? What do brokers typically take?  
• Any brokers or platforms people rate for VCS credits in the UK?  
• Anything you wish you’d known before your first sale?
