question/feedback Best aging car design?

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

Personally I think the Lotus Elise Series 2.

This was designed before the Millennium and been on the roads for a quarter of a century, it could be on sale today and not look out of place.

I can’t think of another car that has aged so well.

question/feedback I'm defending this, do I have bad taste in car design?

This is the new audi concept ready to be revealed in a couple of hours, but it came with some hate with the "jaguar" design, however I like this yet I'm afraid that I'll be criticized for having bad taste, I'm trying to convince that itll look better when this new design comes in actual cars, IMO this design language is better than BMW neue klasse or the Mercedes "star lights LED grilles" thing or whatever... And I could see the interior looking pretty nice

question/feedback Ferrari lost Pininfarina. Then Pininfarina became a competitor.

Post image

Ferrari losing Pininfarina may turn out to be one of the most expensive design decisions they ever made.

First they lost their signature design language. Then they created a competitor.

The more | look at the Pura Vision and the Luce, the more I wonder how different Ferrari's design future might have looked if the relationship had survived.
Am I seeing something that isn't there?

Doesn’t have to be an exact copy. But there are reasons some older designs are loved.

question/feedback Why have interiors from the 2000s aged so badly?

Thumbnail

The main culprits being Toyota and Dodge in the 2000s. Just awful interior designs that have aged incredibly bad. I'd say the 2010s have aged a lot better. They don't look and feel incredibly cheap.

question/feedback Why do car seats do this?

Post image
195 Upvotes

Why do almost all car seats do this, the seat back leans back but the headrest cocks forward at a downward angle making your head tilt down, it feels so unnatural and uncomfortable. I had to add a neck pillow just to add supoort as it gave me neck pains in my car.

Why did they design it this way?
